Not a great barefoooting boat. I did have a tower boom on mine, and could foot behind it - I suppose a good footer could cross the wake, but less than ideal imo..
I have 2005 SANTE, and I always do it at least once a year just to keep doing it. I ride 90 ft line and I have a bit of lead weight, I have no problems crossing the wake, but it is tall and very hard in the middle. I have a power prop, so my speed is a little slower than I normally would ride, 38/39 versus 42.
I foot behind my G23 from time to time. I have yet to try to cross the wake. I'm not all that good, so I'm expecting that if I were to try, it probably wouldn't go so well.

I had a 2005 as well, I weigh 185lbs, long line no problem with ballast empty. Had a friend that was 220lbs, top end was a bit slow for him, but still doable.
Borrowed a tower boom, initial tumble up was a little challenging with side spray, but once at speed its not too bad.
Overall, imo, if you are barefooting in addition to wakeboarding, surfing, then its doable, but if you barefoot most of the time, then might want to go air nautique with a direct drive.
