    New boat??

We currently have a 2012 SAN 210. We are thinking of upgrading to a G21. We were at a local dealer and they informed us you can't ski behind a G21. They said wake is too large and there is no pole in back of boat. Is this true? My family wakeboards and surfs, but we also slalom ski. We would like a boat that can accomodate all of our needs.

    Thoughts?

The best way to know for sure, as your standards may differ from others, is to simply get the dealer to take you out for an on-water demo. The G boats were designed to throw a wake, have you considered a 230? When we were shopping, our dealer rep allowed us to demo the G23 and 230 back to back on the same day, allowing us a fair comparison. Without getting out on the water, we still might be boat shopping.

I just purchased a G 21. I would definitely not recommend the G series for anyone who wants to ski. I would have thought that in Nautiques lineup the SAN 210 would be the best all around choice? I don't think that the industry makes a multi sport that does it all, for that matter not sure it is possible. I love the G for what we use it for. Surfing is simple setup, great wave right of the factory floor. I would maybe consider the g if you are hard core surfer and hardcore Wakeboarder. The G has incredible wake and wave for both. The G is much heavier and you will loose that ski boat feel that you probably enjoy with the 210. The 210 with a 409 felt like my old direct drive Mastercraft X9 (very nimble). The G21 weight is 5200 lbs dry so don't expect that feel at all. I have a G21 with the Supercharged 550 and it handles quite well considering the weight and size of the boat. Storage is incredible in the G as well. Nautique built a great purpose driven product Wakeboard and surf is where the boat shines. I like to slalom myself and we decided surf was 90% of our use so we bought the G. Try them out, all companys, Mastercraft is due for a new boat that could compete against Nautique. I here the just released a X20, this is a 20 foot boat with they say an incredible wake and surf wake. worth a look, good luck!

It sounds like you already have the best boat for your needs.

As a 210 owner, I find it has really been a great boat and as versatile as we need (but maybe someday a G21 would be nice, unless a new tow vehicle is required as a result).

It sounds like you are looking at a series of trade-offs or at least need to determine priority of sport. One option is the sport 200 which would enhance the slalom opportunity (I haven't been on one) but you'd be giving up on space and my sense is that the WB and surf wake isn't going to be comparable.

I was looking for a boat that could do all three well. I demo'd a 230 and the ski wake was no where as good as the X30. Went with the X30 with Gen2 and absolutely love it. I had a Nautique 216V before and really liked Nautique and wanted to stay with them but MC won my second mortgage.

I've had the Sport, very nice and does all well but only well.

Just had this conversation the other day with a friend who slalomed his G-21 the other day back to back with a 14 210 and he said the G wake was easier to ski. States it's flatter but wide and less steep than the 14 210. He runs the service department at a dealer so he's in just about every Nautique on a regular basis. ( not that they are broke but test rides and new prep)

I was surprised to hear this and he was surprised too, said they pulled the hydro gate back to make the 210 wakes feel better. Weird? Yep
