how much boat liability insurance do you carry?

in canada our rates are crazy. thinking of making a switch to skisafe. anybody use them? any canadians here use them? the problem is that they dont offer as much liability as the canadian companies, but how much do i need?

I just switched to skisafe a month or so ago. I got $500k liability added freeze coverage and am still saving money compared to allstate.

"Freeze coverage"? I wasn't familiar with that so I googled it and all I came up with is that ski safe doesn't cover any claims from freeze damage (example: improper winterizing of the boat). Did you find something that they stated they cover?

yeah, it is a bit confusing. what you are reading is the standard language unless you buy the "freezing coverage endorsement" which specifies that it changes the policy language you referred to and add's freezing coverage. I just have to "winterize according to the customary standards of the area where boat is stored." I specifically asked if i would be covered if i do it myself. Agent said yes.

Really depends on how much you have to loose if you had a liability claim.
