New electric shift for throttle available for 2014?

Will the new electric shift for the throttle be available to install on a 2014 SAN230? I drove the 2015 G23 and the throttle was 1000x better than the one from '14. It's about the only thing I don't like in my boat. Is there any way Nautique would warranty that part as right now it seems like a safety hazard because it's difficult to tell when the boat is in neutral vs forward or reverse? It would be awesome to at least be able to install it on a 2014!

Isn't there a detent which catches when put the throttle in to neutral? I've not been in a 2014, but every boat I have been in has had a detent in the past 30 years.

warranty: I can't see Nautique replacing your throttle to an upgraded electronic one.If there is a problem they will fix/replace at their option what is not working as designed. You might ( I doubt it's available at this time, the electronic throttle is a PCM feature not Nautique)be able to buy the parts and have your local Nautique dealer install it.

I highly doubt they will upgrade you. It will most likely require more than just a new shifter. Everything nowadays is tied into the computer systems and engine wiring harness. I am excited to see how the new one feels

Ya with my throttle it is VERY difficult to tell when the boat is in neutral. It has loosened up a touch after 85 hours put on it this year but it doesn't just "lock in" to neutral. It's either always slightly in drive or slightly in reverse it seems like. Night and day difference with the new throttle for 15. Bummer.

That is not normal behavior though. So why not get it fixed? I'm not sure what the throttle linkage is like on the new boats but the older Teleflex cable set up is very smooth and it's very obvious when it's in gear or neutral.

I agree. I find so many people who do not use the best procedure when placing the boat in neutral. When going from forward or reverse to neutral, there is no need to lift the safety ring. By NOT lifting the ring, the throttle handle should lock into neutral as you pull the lever to the center. I find that many people feel that they should be lifting the lock ring even when going to neutral, which is not the best procedure.

Jeff, that is probably exactly what I'm doing by lifting that ring. I'll mess with it and see if it's an operator error! Thanks for the insight. You the man!
