Nautiqueless for the first time in 15 years

I delivered my boat to Ben at Lake Berryessa Sunday. There just isn't any water to ski in San Diego except Mission Bay. I know he was excited to get it and will take good care of it. I look forward to hearing about his improving on the course on this site. Now on to the next project.

I learned how to water ski, kneeboard, ride a scurfer (pre-wakeboard), wakeboard, ride an air-chair and use a boom to learn how to barefoot at Lake Berryessa over several summers. Over several years, I watched the lake level drop and I have never been there when it was actually full.

Understand the feeling. We lost our first Sport Nautique to fire and sold the SV211 a couple of years ago. Hope to be back in a Nautique soon.

They say one of the best days for a boat owner is when they buy the boat and when they sell the boat... I disagree. When I sold my MC PS205, I was moapy for about 3 months. My wife was sick of hearing me whine. I know how you feel buddy, only time will heal your wounds.

So what is the next project? Are you done with water sports? Getting another boat?

Sorry to hear Rick, I also sold my Nautique this year in May after 15 yrs (2 Nautiques). This was the first time I've been without an inboard since '97.

There needs to be a support group for guys like us.

I'm looking for a pre-86 Keaton Utility. It's about 1100 lbs and was one of the first boats with a reverse chine. The guy that taught my son and I to Ski 40 years apart has one and it has a better wake than the 200.

I know the feeling but not to worry! We'll treat it like it's our first-born child. On the days I can't ski I've found myself just sitting in the boat on the trailer making engine noises. We couldn't be happier. Thanks, Rick! Stop by for a ride any time.
