Why does CC not allow transferable warranties? This makes it very difficult to spend 40-50K on a CC and not receive a warranty. My local dealer says that I can purchase a warranty.

It this true?
The warranty on the fiberglass structures (hull, deck, stringers, etc.) is transferable. The engine warranty is transferable. The five-year promise warranty is transferable depending on circumstances.

I bought a used 2003 SAN and was disappointed when a read the owners manual and found out the five year didn't transfer. I was able to pay a few hundred dollars to get the lifetime and the engine to transfer. I still don't understand the "Our five year, transferable warranty is the best in the marine industry, hands down." I would have bought a new one if I had understoood, but I happy with my purchase and hope nothing goes wrong. I've found it's better to tinker on it myself than go to dealer anyway.
Things changed in 2004. The 2003 FYP was not transferable.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was using the 2004 web page for my information at the time and was a little sick when I opened my 2003 manual. So is 2003 the only year the FYP didn't transfer since the deal started?
Okay I was unable to read the document due to the resolution size. I am currently looking at two '03 SANTE's and will hopefully purchase one in the next week. Please explain what the five year promise warranty is and how it differs from the engine and hull warranty. Also should this be a determining factor in deciding to purchase an '03 boat? Should I look for a diffrent year or offer less money since this warranty is non-transferable for this year boat?
