    Thinking of upgrading, your thoughts?

We currently own a '92 SNCB and spend most of our time over at CCFan. I took wifey to the local Nautique dealer to look at some newer boats just to kill time. She hated all of them until we came across this: http://www.boattrader.com/listing/20...tion-102297389

I know very little about the newer boats and was wondering what you guys thought of the asking price. Price doesn't include trailer. Boat has about 350 hours on her, but the hour meter is new and only showing like 28 hours. Dealer said they replaced the meter.

What are the things I need to be concerned with (if any) in this type of boat?

Going our for a test ride tomorrow. She was super clean from what we saw today.

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like a nice boat especially for the price. What sport do you want to do? Mojo over on CCF has a 211 you may want to check with him?

Good price for an '08. Was it used in salt water? I see '08 and newer regularly for $40+

We mostly wakeboard at the moment. Nothing crazy, we pretty much can jump wake to wake, but that's about it. Still learning. I'd like more storage and space and the open bow. Love our '92, but it gets cramped at times and we're quickly outgrowing the wake.

Dealer doesn't believe it was ever in salt water. No corrosion anywhere that we could see. It was stored in a boat house, hence the lack of a trailer.

Are there any items I need to be on the look for when we test drive her tomorrow? Known issues?

Is $38 out the door with a trailer an unreasonable offer?

Considering a trailer is $4-6K that is asking a bit much. If you could get them to do $40K with trailer+TTL you would most likely be doing ok.

He said he would recommend a used trailer for $1K-2K. I just specified that it had to have brakes. Our current trailer does not and panic stops stops can get hairy. This boat is 1000 lbs more than our current ride.

I think that price is a bit high without a trailer. Having just searched for a used single axel Mastercraft Trailer for a 205v across the nation, you are def looking at 4-7 k for a trailer. Unless your dealer has a specific line on one I would expect to pay minimum 4k.
40k with a trailer woukd be fair, but i would be looking more in the 35k range w/o one.

As far as the upgrade, it has the space and storage you are looking for. As far as V drives of that era it also drives /handles as close to your d drive as a v drive can. It skis very well . The seating and walkthru are loved by some, a deal breaker for others. It has potential for your ability in wakeboarding. It will handle and satify all the way up to intermediate riders. You are somewhat limited regarding the wakeboard and surf wakes due to the walkthrough. Adding extra weight pretty much eliminates the walkthrough because a sac sits there exposed. So if you plan on progressing and being serious about boarding and have any inclination of surfing you may want to go 220 or 210. That's a decision for you. It sounds like you only board so I would steer you 210 or 220. However if it's more of a do everything boat you are looking for with wakeboarding and skiing it's perfect. At the end of the day the wake even unweighted will be bigger than you current boat.

If it's a saltwater boat the vues will drop than those mentioned above.

If you are mainly wakeboarding I would look for a 210. You can find nice 07-08's for a little more than that boat with trailer.
