2001-2005 SAN 210 fly high ballast upgrade/install questions

Looking for this year's winter project; thinking about a ballast upgrade or overhaul, specifically the fly high kit...

For you guys that took out hard tanks and replaced them with the 750 bags...
do you have any issues of losing things under or between the bag and the walls? i.e. ropes, jackets, bumpers, etc? (I've seen the newer model boats have soft rather than hard tanks but with a divider (labeled no step) I assume to keep random stuff from getting wedged in or underneath them?)
How about water under the bags getting smelly/moldy carpet?
In the bow's underseat area I have a cooler on the starboard side... how does this effect installation? Does the bag not fill? Issues of it getting pinched or the wake being uneven?
Any other things I should think about before pulling the trigger?
Also thought I saw a link for a discount, couldn't find it with a search, in group buys, or sponsors, (maybe it was a different forum) anyone know differently? Thanks in advance for any advice and opinions.

For the rear, I do have to pull the bags out from time to time to let the carpet below dry. This only happens if I surf, becasue water will come in through the vents.

You must have dividers, although I think you do already if you have a 2001-2005 boat. Be sure that they are secured at the bottom. On my 2000, the bags could lift up the bottom of the dividers and expand into the engine compartment and hit the fly wheel resulting in cut in bag. I put in some L brackets to tie them to the floor. Fixed the problem. With the GT40, the dividers basically rest against a part of the engine, so I didn't need to reinforce them as they are already braced by the engine.

Any sac in the bow is not going to fill completely full, and if you have a cooler taking up space, that might make things a bit uneven. Is the cooler on the passenger side or driver side? A few pop bags could take care of that little unevenness.

I think Wakemakers and PN are still working out the terms for a discount, but if you call Wakemakers and mention PN, I think they will give you a discount. It's just not up yet on the discounts page (I think).

finally it's monday and I was able to contact wakemakers, got some bad news, apparently 03-05 cannot run wedge bags on top of hard tanks in an intergraded system, only replace the hard tanks completely, AND there is no kit to piggyback off of the ski locker and fill an additional bow sack so I'd still need to manually fill/drain the bow each time, thanks to my boat having aerator pumps?

HUGE bummer, if anyone knows differently please or has a solution in your own 2005 SANTE, let me know

PS thanks Chexi for your info... much appreciated.

Why dont you just ditch the aerators and hard tanks all together and use reversible pumps and fly hi sacks? As far as the cooler in the bow I think most people cut it out in order to put the integrated bow sack under the seats.

Why can't you just use a "Y" splitter between the belly hard tank and an integrated bow bag? There may not be a kit for it, but I would think with a few cheap plumbing parts it would be easy enough to "Y" split the intake. You may want/need to run a new vent line off the integrated bow sac, although probably not.

Read this thread for installing wedge sacs on top of hard tanks. http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...-2003-up-SANTE
It has worked for years on my boat. I will be swapping to 750 sacs and removing all this sometime this Winter, so if you're interested I could sell all my stuff ready to go for you.

that's exactly the thread I needed, thanks Jason, after reading through that and not having any reference photos (I suspect because it was so long ago) I'm a little confused/nervous about the install and will likely just go with the 750's too

Yeah no pics cause I did the install years before. I just made the DIY post because so many were asking about it.

I replaced the hard tanks with 1100lb bags on my 02 SAN and they fill the whole locker for surfing. Having the extra storage room from removing the hard tanks is nice when trailering. I suggest building your own drain/fill line kit if you have 1" drain lines. The wake makers kit comes with a 3/4" drain. also putting a butterfly valve on the vent line is key to filling the bags full for surfing.
If your factory pumps are still working why not leave them?

Factory pumps work fine... Planning on keeping them; I was just told the 05 pumps won't allow me to piggyback bags on top of hardtanks or add an integrated bow sack. Probably heading down your path, just with 750's and manually filling the bow. Butterfly is a good idea, do you have a photo? And I will check this weekend if I have 3/4 or 1" existing tubes
