Hey guys!
I'm Larry from Oklahoma. I've got an 81 Ski Nautique I got from my uncle when he bought him a new one back in 96. I don't know why I waited to long to join some forums for Nautiques, but oh well, here I am. hehe.
I'll get some pics up of it in the next little bit. It's currently down at Buxton Marine in Lewisville getting (or supposto be anyway) serviced. This year it's been giving me some trouble and I got tired of messing with it so I dragged it down to Tx to let them mess with it. It hasn't been to the shop in 5 or 6 yrs so I guess it's about time. I said supposto up there b/c I took it to them last Tue. and he said they'd look at it in another 2 days and call me, so I waited untill Sat. and I called them and they hadn't done anything and forgot what exactly I needed done. *agrivated*
Oh well, I guess as long as it gets to runnin like it should it'll be fine. hehe.
Some more about the boat if you're interested. My uncle bought it from the Dallas Ski club back in the mid 80s when they retired it. It was actually used on the US ski circuit and thus has the chevy 350 instead of the Ford. I've heard some talking about it being a limited edition... I keep planning to call CC with the HIN so find out for sure, but it has the wood grain dash, split rear seat, captain's chair has the extra rise, chrome railings down the side, aluminum trim around the windshield and the storage compartments down the side.
If any of you Texas guys have been there in the last week, it was the old school brown one out front. hehe.
I use it mainly for wakeboarding. It throws a great wake, even though it's a ski. I'd love to upgrade to a newer Air, but this has been a great boat, and I need to put my extra money toward school right now. Maybe later though.
See ya!
