I recently purchased a 2015 SAN 230. We upgraded the pro ballast to 750's. I am wondering what others are doing to get the best possible surf wave without adding sacs on the seats.

Just to clarify. You have the 750s in the rear instead of the 450s correct? Do you have the 750 in the bow as well? If not you definitely need to add this to help lengthen the wave. What do you not like about your current wave? It should be a very nice wave. I have surfed both with the 450s in rear and 900s. I actually think I like the wave better with 450s when I have full tank of gas and at least 4 adults. I actually think the 750s would be the perfect wave. I am goofy footed so I don't offset the weight but some feel doing so cleans the wake up on the regular side(port).

Yes, we upgraded the 450's to 750's. I haven't taken delivery on the boat yet. I love the wave that is why we bought the boat. It was by far the best for the boats that we tested (X-10, X-30, 2015 VLX, 2014 LSV). I was considering adding wieght to the bow, but I wasn't sure how much to add. I would prefer to do this with lead so I can conceal it easily and take up less space. Also part of our goal with this boat was to get away from filling sacs with tsumani pumps. I wasn't sure how this would affect the ride of the boat. Also I am regular foot and my wife and son are goofy foot. Should I add wieght to counteract prop rotation, where and how much. Lastly, I still do water ski on occasion and would prefer not to haul this stuff out of the boat every time that I ski. Thx, I apprciate the input

Understand I just recently got my 2014 230 so i am still learning. My friend has a 2013 and I have spent a lot of time trying to get his dialed in. You will for sure want weight in the bow this will help lengthen your surf wave. I have a 750 in the bow that is completely hidden under the cushions. Since i only have the 450s i dont always fill the bow when surfing. It will take up all the storage in the bow when filled though. You will not need pump as you will fill from the factory belly. You can order and connect yourself. Will take less than an hour. If you do any wakeboarding the bow weight will help especially at slower speeds (18 -19). In regard to counter weight I have only done this some. I can't tell you that I notice a significant difference yet. Try filling port side all the way and mess around with starboard side around 1/2 to 3/4. Also I believe most everyone agrees to have hydro gate pulled back no vert. I find on my boat 2014 with the 450s wave shape is best on setting of five. On my friends 2013 with 900s it seems to be better at 0. I don't know if it is because of additional weight or because of different hull design. Hope this helps.
Can you help me? I have heard both. Do the trays fit with the 750s full or do you have to remove them?

Seveet,
Just load it up and go! You really don't need much more than what you already have. You can always add bow weight like flounder pointed out but it isn't necessary. Your only options are lead or hooking up a sac underneath the bow seats (thereby loosing that storage) to your stock pumps.2016 Super Air Nautique 230 (sold)
