    2014 factory surf pipe depth?

i have installed a 2014 factory surf pipe on my 2012 210. my question is how deep should it ride in the water. i feel like i could trim mine while keeping the same angle that is on the pipe. i saw some pics of others and they seem to be not at deep.

if i would take a straight line from bottom of boat to the pipe, i have over three inches in the water. does it need to be that deep?

Just a suggestion; why not call FAE and ask them how deep it should be on most boats or look at the many pics online to get a reference?

I bought one of the early FAE for my 2002 Python 210 and had to cut off a few inches to make it usable, might be that the Python blasts the exhaust harder but the default pipe depth caused major deformation to the surf wake and sprayed in the face of the rider regardless of ballast setup and speed. After cutting, it was still messy but most of the spray hit the swim deck. After cutting, the surf wake didn't look as clean as without the exhaust because of surface spray but rode firm with unchanged push and with ballast could be cleaned up.

Even with the cutting and issues, it was still worthwhile because the exhaust volume without it was intolerable. Who wants to huff on a tailpipe (besides Charlie Sheen)?
