My old boat was a Glastron GX205. It was a 20' 5 ' boat and then an extra 2' with the swim platform and had a small block v-8 with a Volvo-Penta I/O drive. It would run close to 60 mph trimmed out on a calm day and just two people in it, but I never ran it that fast much. Maybe here or there chasing a nephews jetski, or maybe trying to out run a storm.

I know these wakeboarding boats aren't geared for topend speed and I'm fine with that! Some of our best "cruising" boat rides were around the 25-30 mph range. that was with the motor just "humming along" and the "tunes playing".

It's really sounding like either boat I'm looking at will fit my purpose just fine. I'm just thinking I can probably find a "better buy" on the 230, and it seems like there are a lot more of them to choose from.

I haven't completely ruled out buying a new boat, but I'm more set on buying a "used or demo" 2013-2014 model boat.

Thanks again for everybody's posts, they have all been helpful and all appreciated
My dealer has a 230 that is exactly my color, so I was stoked to hop in it and check it out.

I'm a super tall guy, so the first thing I noticed when I sat in the 230 was that the seats are lower than the G, and I felt like my knees were at nipple height. Not an issue for most ordinary folks, but even less tall people might start to feel that after a long day at the lake.

I also did not like that the ballast is not so neatly hidden. I thought the rear tanks reaching up the side of the back storage was goofy. I forgot already if you mentioned that you live on a lake, but if storage space is an issue, the 230 does not have it, and the G series is unbeleivably full of storage space and large access hatches.

tallredrider, How much lower were the seats in the 230 vs the G ? I'm not considerd short by no means, but not tall either. I'm about 5'11" and i'm about the tallest out of my immediate family.

I noticed some of the Moomba's and Tige boats I had looked at had rerally low seats also. Is a 230 that low?

I was told that Nautiques had good seating in them, but I haven't looked at one in person yet

      Thanks

I should have prefaced that with I am freakishly tall at 6'9". So under 6 feet, you might not even notice. I did not measure, but even 2 inches makes a big difference in the angle of my knee. I don't think you would find it a problem, unless you have old knees like I do.

I'm 6'4 and the 230 is not a problem. I love driving the boat. I sit perfectly in the drivers seat and am able to look directly through the windshield without blind spots. On just about every other boat I must stand or prop the seat up or I'm looking at the top of the windshield.

There is a diff between the 230 and G23, but nothing you won't adjust to very quickly. G23 is just icing on the cake!
