It can't tell you about the boarding wake, but I can tell you that although the 90-96 hull is considerably wider, you won't gain all that much more room with fat sacs and whatnot. I would hold out until you can get a dedicated boarding boat- your current rig is fine for the moment, and who knows what probems could spring up in the new boat. That is a nice looking 2001.

SN2001 vs. 96 SNOB
I had a 1988 2001 and at one time looked at going from such boat to a 94 SNOB which has the same bottom and layout as the boat you are asking about. (I eventually opted for a 1999 SNOB.) Here is what I found out in my research. The wake will be much better for slalom skiing but not as good for wakeboarding. Essentially, you have an awesome wakeboard boat right now.
Also, CC when making the open bow moved everything back, including windshield and motor box, to accommodate the additional weight of the open bow. CC is not like other manufactures that simply cut a hole in the bow and put in seats. They move things rearward to adjust the center of gravity accordingly. What happens is that things are a bit more tight in the SNOB than they are in the closed bow. I would say that you have a bit more room in your 2001 than the SNOB--even though the later model SNOB is a 19.6ft boat as opposed to your 18.7(?) 2001.
Finally, I have to say that while I love my 99 SNOB, I can't wait to get into the 206. The walkover bow is nice but a pain. It is also small and really only good for kids. With an adult in the bow, you better be ready to get the nose up or things will get wet real fast. Hence, I concur with the above comments. Wait until you can get a dedicated wakeboard boat. You will be disapointed in both the room in and the wake on the SNOB. Or, you can find a nice 93 or 94 Sport Nautique. These have lots of room and a great wakeboard wake and are fairly economical.
Good luck.

I guess i didnt say how much i could get the 1996 snob for.i can get it for about 9000.I usally pay cash for all the boats i have had,and i usally move up in year and size and dont have to come out of pocket when i do it.i dont plan on keeping the snob to long ,just until i find a sweet deal on a sport or supersport.its just a step up the ladder for me to reach the goal of having a newer wakeboarding boat without having that stupid payment.Ive had 3 correct crafts and everytime i sell one i get more what i paid for them. thanks for the reply
