    Some more ranting about service....

Why is it that I can not seem to get decent service from Buxton's Marine? I am nice when I go there and explain what I want done.

Drop the boat off and say, make the boat run. I explain I can make it idle fine but when I give it gas it dies, or I can make it run fine when I have gas in it but die when I bring it to idle. I want it to do both. Is this hard to understand.

So I pick the boat up a week and 1/2 later and it runs horrible.

It idle's great. But when I give it gas it backfires and cuts out. How can there be a misunderstading? Why would I give the boat to a dealer and just want them to make it idle? "Ya guys, I have this Ski Nautique that was made to be a tournament boat, and I just want it to idle." "You know, like it's supposto." *sarcarm*

    Really.

So I take the boat back to them. They keep it another 2 weeks. Not only do they charge me ANOTHER $361.75 b/c the elect. ign. part that SWCC sold me was the wrong model number, but they had to put a points system back in it. Really, $361.75, ontop of the $300 I already spent for them to make it "run". (Note: when I said I want it to run, I explaind to him, I want it to run like a CC is supposto. He then voluntairly said they'd make it run perfect. And I have a 3rd party witness.) They charged $361 to put a points system back in it. Come on, a monkey could do that. That takes about as much tallent as putting spark plugs in the boat. I was just out of town for 2 weeks or I'd have done it again my self like I have all the other times.

    So, on to more ranting.

Yesterday I finally pick up the boat, pay the bill to get the boat off of the lot. (Not that the subject has been dropped, we are supposto talk to SWCC tomorrow.) There are 2 deep scratches down the side of the boat. 1 on each side going from the very front to a little past 1/2 way. I regret not inspecting the WHOLE boat before leaving, but I just couldn't stand to be there anymore. Also, I am missing the side lense cover and bulb of the rear right tail light. The light bulbs on the bottom rail under the prop and rudder were also dangling. All of which was there when I dropped the boat off.

Let this be fair warning to you all, Buxton's Marine has not once, not twice, but 3 times given me poor service, shotty workmanship, and total disregard for their customer's property. A letter to the regional manager of CC and CC in Orlando has already been arrange and will be sent with in the next week.

oh my gosh rocco, you could be speaking against the SWEETEST woman in the CC family - Jane Buxton. run like Gump, you could get struck by lightening @ any moment.
Otherwise, sometimes the boat needs a fresh set of eyes. Talk to Southwest Cc in ?,Tx; about 1 1/2 hour east of Dallas.

I've talked to them several times, they said they don't do service stuff like that anymore.

There are 2 CC dealers in OK though that I'll try out next time.

When I have talked with John Givens I thought he was a real straight up guy. He's been around a long time, knows all the TX dealers, and appears very honest. I would suggest you call him directly and see what he can do.

                      NO KIDDEN.
Everyone makes mistakes, I can't imagine Buxton not wanting to correct a mistake, unless he was approached wrong.

If putting in the points yourself was so easy why the **** didn’t you do it yourself and save $300 bucks??? Lets not forget the fact that you have a 23 year old boat...and by the way you straight called out one of the top Nautique dealers in the nation...I would assume you're like a middle age housewife with nothing else to do except complain. It sort of reminds me of this woman at the school board meeting I attended with my wife last week....she was complaining because her son kept miss behaving and was sent home repeatedly from school....and apparently it is somehow the schools fault. The Buxton's are the nicest people in this region selling Nautiques. They have treated my family and our 2003 Super Air with the up most respect. How about you shuck the '81 and buy yourself something a little more dependable.

                        Thanks

Why don't you read everything I post before you go shootin' your mouth off. I've been gone most the month of July and wanted it ready when I returned. It's hard to work on something when you are 800 miles away.

My uncle has done business with Buxton's for 20 or more years and has said nothing but good things about them. But this whole situation has him disgusted. He has even been with me when I've gone to disguss this matter with Jim.

And about it being an 81. Right now, it has 599 hrs on it. It is a 20th anniversary limited edition and a collectors item. I think I'll keep it.

Even if I got a new one, I'd keep it.

Oh, and it's funny you should say, "nicest people people selling Nautiques." One of the many times we were on the phone with the shop trying to figure out what exactly was going on, Greg, one of the mechanics, told my dad, "If you want to know how things are going, don't talk to Jim. Call me. Jim is only interested in selling new boats, and doesn't keep up with the maintainance." He may be the nicest salesman, but his own employee ratted him out. He doesn't care unless he's making the big bucks.
