I just garbaged my prop this last weekend since the lake was a little low. I need to purchase a replacement for my 1995 super sport w/ GT-40 before the weekend and was wondering which one to buy. After the research on this website, I am thinking the Acme 644 might be the right choice. We wakeboard most of the time and are not overly concerned with top end speed. Input from other super sport guys with the GT-40 would be appreciated. Or does anyone have a used one for sale?

I have the same boat, engine, and 644 prop. Works great, get it.

RE: Re: Another Acme prop ??
I have a 05 SV211 EX330 which came with the Acme 644. I changed to the Acme 856 now and it has better power. I guess it depends on how much weight you have and where you want your Rs to be.-Jon

RE: Re: Another Acme prop ??
I put the 856 on my 97 ss and hated it. I ran it for one set and took it off. I ended up getting the 536 which is basically the same as the 644 except 1/4" bigger diameter. I haven't tried it yet because my lake is so low I dont want to tag it on something. I have hit my OJ lightly a couple of times in the last month with no damage. I heard the ACME is a little easier to damage so I have been reluctant to put it on. Plus I broke my foot a couple of weeks ago so I haven't been riding anyway.
My experience with the 856 vs the OJ14x18 that was on it.
Boat 2100lbs of ballast plus 4 people riding speed 24-24.5mph.
OJ- 3100 rpm at riding speed out of the hole it revs to around 3700
Amce- 3500 rpm at riding speed out of the hole rev to 4600. The prop is supposedly designed to slip allowing the engine to turn higher rpm. I didn't care for it. The hole shot seemed about the same if not worse than the OJ. I was expecting it to be a night and day difference. overall I didn't care for the way it performed at all. Like I said I took it off and sent it back after the first pull. I had good experiences in the past with the acme on my other boat and thought it would be similar. I am hoping the 536 does a little better for me. I would probably stick to the 644 or 536. I read that people we having luck with the 856 but alot of them are running a different motor and tranny combo than our boats.
