    Question about wakeboarding tourny rules...

I heard there are some tournaments that do not allow wakeboarders to use towers or anything other than a ski pole. Is this true and what tournaments?

In my SN all I have is the ski pole, I can get plenty of air off of it, so I have no problem seeing how a pro could get enough of it. But you can get that extra few feet off a tower.

    So, what's the deal?

Haven't heard of a tournament like that... Why would they?
          How about \"Chales\"?

You know, I was thinking about that also. Why would they?

If such tournaments exist, the only thing I could come up with is inclusion. Get more people involved, etc. Seems like you would reduce the focus on air tricks. More focus on surface tricks, beginner moves, etc. Also might get some of the family I/O and outboard crowds involved.

Get them hooked an then get them to move up to larger and more
expensive boats, buy more equipment, etc.

Alternatively, I've heard of some lakes that prohibit ballasts, towers,
or high poles. In that case, I could see a "low pole" tournament for the
            kids.
