I was looking at the specs on the boat, is the weight correct? That thing is a tank!

This boat looks awesome, but there was one pic that was verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryr dissapointing. It is the second pic to the top that i think Nautique Jeff posted. Do you see how high that bow is!!!!!! I see all those XSTars out there that look like their on a 45 degree angle! I know CC is pretty much famous for the technology they have that will keep the bow down at all times. esp with the 226. Are they going to blow their technology on this boat? I hope that this pic is a pic with ballast filled adn with that plate thing all the way down or up...or whatever positition it is in when the bow goes up..Because if that is normal..I have to say..thats somewhat dissapointing...

        abundiga,
look at this. the bow is still up but this boat has a whole lot of extra weight up front too above and beyond the factory ballast. Thought you might like the look of this wake too.

          211 shift gate

Well I just got back from the NY boat show and have seen the shift gate up close. It is like a small Guillotine, about 10" wide by 4" tall. It sits flush against the stern under the platform such that the gate slides up and down about an inch, exposing/covering a channel in the bottom of the boat that extends from the stern up to where the shaft enters the hull. The channel is only about 3/4" deep and less than 10" wide. The shift gate only extends past this channel and does not impose the same threats of underwater hardware as the Tiga TAPS and Malibu Wedge does. THe concept of the shift gate is to effectivelly deminish the rooster tail thereby changing the way the hull sits in the water and thus changes the shape and firmness of the wakes. Supposedly it works, however, subtly.

            rdelf,
Thanks for the description. You are right on about how it looks. This system is operated by a shift cable so if something were to happen, it is very easy to deal with. There aren't very many parts involved with it. I have seen the system and used it. I think it does a good job of altering the wake for most recreational families. Of course, it can't give you the wake of a 196 for slalom and a 210 wake for boarding but I think it is a great step towards advancing the crossover market.
