    FCT Color Options

Just had my FCT fabricated to fit my 95 SN, boat is silvercloud hull with vapor blue and black stripes. I need to tell the powder coater what color i want. First i was going to have it done black, matches windshield frame. Then i thought white would look really good, then thought maybe match the vapor blue. Now that i need to make the call its harder to pull the trigger. Wondering what anyone else thinks would be a good choice and why. Thanks

    RE: FCT Color Options

Do you have a pict of your boat for reference?

I would go black or matching blue.

Personally - I really only like tower colors that match the windshield....black to black, brushed stainless to brushed stainless etc.

Now if the deck and the tower were the same color I might like it.

I would look through the boat postings on here and sale sites to find similar boats that might have the same color scheme. If all else failes, use photoshop.

I think that black would look the best on that boat. Powder coating it in vapor blue would be too much blue IMO. The black window frame, stripe and tower would be just the right amount of contrast.

This is my 216 TE w/ Vapor Blue primary and the tower was powdercoated locally to match the boat. It turned out to be perfect and would do it again any day. I always think colored towers add a nice touch to the boat--they look real cool and everybody notices them.

This isnt my boat or an FCT but it makes an argument for white. I like the vapor but im concerned it may look too light blue, almost baby blue.

Personally, I like a little contrast.

Since this picture was taken, I have powder coated the flight clips red, and I plan to powder coat the windshield blue this winter.

I like the custom graphic job on the closed bow there. I think it is sharp!

I agree. Or, maybe if the hull were colored, you could go with a matching tower. Otherwise, having the tower match the stripe might look a little too loud.

Talked to Mike, my fabricator, and for the first time when the work wasnt done on time i wasnt mad. In fact relieved...i get another day to decide on color.
Alan-S, your tower looks great, is that Bright white? regular white or did you try to match the silvercloud hull?
Thanks for all the opinions, pictures, and ideas!

Umm.....sorry dont remember, It is really, really white but so is the top deck. I do remember it cost me about $450. I know this sounds crazy but it is really easy to keep clean. I just clean it with soap and water, dry, and spray with Meguires Marine Spray Wax about twice a year. I am getting ready to do it again on my new boat, I pick it up Friday. White is hot!
