Adding trunk ballast - any issues?

I'm planning my ballast installation on a 206. Then I realized that the trunk sits partially over the gas tank, and adding too much weight in the trunk could possibly compromise the gas tank and/or create safety issues. Has anyone had any problems overweighting the trunk on the 206 or 216s?
