I'm not a mechanical guru, but it seems that the new logo on the side of the tower wasn't strong enough for giving the tower a sturdy feel, that they have to add an support bracket on the front of the tower.
But the 2006 doesn't look suprising, but getting better every year...

Is that tower standard or will they still be doing the old fct as standard and the newer tower as an option?

My guess is when they replaced the ridged mounts with pivoting mounts they needed to strengthen the corners of the tower to prevent them from bending under a side load. I’m new to boating and know little to nothing about wake board towers, but this is probably a good thing. I would much rather see those stresses in the tower then in the fiberglass mounting points on the boat.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not feeling the towers on the 210 and 220....maybe it has to grow on me? BTW, did CC finally put a light up on top of the tower that doesn't look like an afterthought (i.e. the integrated approach that Mastercraft took)?

The 220 tower is thicker than the 210 tower, and the 220 tower does not have the reinforcement rails. Here are a couple more pictures of the 2006 210.

I see the 220 has a cup holder next to the passenger dash compartment, does the 210 have one there now aswell?

Monkey. On the 196 at least, the cup holder on the passenger side was removed from the speaker pod and moved up to the left (port) side of the glove box. I think this is a change that is taking place on all of the models that had the pod so you will probably see it on the 210 as well.

Wow. What a relief this has all been. I was afraid that I'd be itching to get a 220 or a new 210. Guess not. I hate the new tower. I hate the new graphic. I dont like the color options. I still think 2003 was the best year of the Super Air Nautique. It has gone downhill from there.

I have a 2001 SAN, for the record. It is very simple, no graphic, no tribal tattoo'ed flames or batman graphics.

I just don't understand what the purpose of the flat bar is with the logo on it??? Like the '03's and '05's minus the logos. My '03 still has logos on it but will probably come off as some point soon.
