Just reading the press releases and noticed that the 196 has the TSC3 hull. What is this? Is it the hydrogate or are there other changes to the 196 hull? The 206 release still says TSC2 hull. So, what gives?

I know of a small change to the hull of the 196. There is a post about it in the Off Topic section by Mid-Ohio Watersports.
Here's a picture of the 2006 196 that has just been released by Correct Craft.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. I think this is what Jeff was talking about.

The 196 and 206 both have the option of adding the hydrogate. The 196 goes to a TSC3 hull because they have removed the lifting strakes from the back half of the hull.

Originally posted by SGYSkinautique, so what the purpose of removing the lifting strakes? Will the wake be smaller, softer, etc. Or will the boat just track better? What's the scoop? Have you skied behind one yet?
The biggest thing that they are after is a clean trick table. Between the removal of the strakes and the hydrogate, this has been achieved. I haven't skied this boat yet (soon though) but I would imagine you may only see suttle differences in the way it skis. Driving shouldn't be effected at all either.

I'm interested to know if they have drive by wire this year. One the the guys I ski with need a lot of throttle to get up to speed in a short setup and I'm afraid DBW might not have the acceleration of a cable. It has been noticed on the MC's seem slower to get up to speed.Current
