T-H Marine Ballast Valve Replacements

Correct Craft is looking for some people with first-hand knowledge of the T-H Marine valves as a replacement for the problematic Flow-Rite ballast valves. If those of you who have installed the T-H Marine valves would take a minute to send your thoughts on those valves to Correct Craft, they would really appreciate it. They are currently researching them, and are looking for some first-hand information from us! Here's their request:

TO ALL WHO HAVE REMOVED THE RED FLOW-RITE BALLAST VALVES & INSTALLED THE T-H MARINE BLACK VALVES. Correct Craft is testing these valves, but we would also like to hear from you. We want more validation. As soon as you can, please submit the following information:

1. Your boat hull number.

2. A picture of your T-H valve installation.

3. The number of hours put on the new valves.

4. Do the valves function for you?

5. In the CLOSED position do they keep water OUT of the tanks?

6. If not, how much do they leak?

7. Do you recommend them as a valid replacement of the flow-rite valves?

Interesting. My 01 didn't come with flow-rites, but I DID buy flow-rite valves for my custom SAN ballast system and my self-primer pumps blew water right through them. I switched the flow-rites for T-H valves, problem solved.

I'm assuming they are only interested in situations where stock valves are replaced with the T-H valves? I'd be WAY more than happy to provide evidence that should improve the functionality of their boats.

I'd go ahead and send your information to them anyway, even though the Flow-Wrongs didn't come on your boat from the factory. I'm sure they can get something out of what you have to say.

hey OF, I thought I would ask. It's $3.35 at the pump here in Norcal, and my trucks gets like 12mpg, the kid's bug gets about 30mpg, so tow or not to tow , that is the question...

I went to the gas station with my rv and 211 in tow, handed the attendant my credit card, and said 'keep it!"

yes, I have been in direct contact with correct craft, since I have been using these valves the longest in a ballast type system in both my super's airs. I really wanted them to explore the use of them in the newer boats, but they decided to go with the Jabsco's set up. Fill and empty through the the same intake etc.

I am currently working on a new type valve, same style, same manual control setup, but larger diameter. Lets hope I can get them made.

IE: dont fret about the Jabsco's seizing, rundry burn out, etc. etc. , apparently they worked out the bugs with Jabsco on there newer pumps? I know I have three Jabsco ballast puppies sitting in my garage, which wont go back into my boats.

My valves are leaking and the CC fix is no fix. The valves get adjusted or replaced and they soon start leaking again. CC needs to step up and fix this problem.

hey Fatboy, i sent in my info. seems to me they are moving in that direction. We'll see. Better VERY late than never. Got to imagine this has been pretty embarrassing to CC. BTW, did u see the 220? Never mind, i'll check that link.

I gotta beleive they are looking for a "T_H" retro-fit kit for all the boats out there ,and then using the JABSCO design as thier "go forward" design. They are likely saving some in the SS thruhull's for pumping out. I kinda like the above water line outflows, as it gives you a real sense of "empty". The guages are not as accurate.

Installed the T-H Valves on my '05 216, and they work like a charm. Thanks to MikeSki for the info on the install.

My TH valves are still sitting in a box in the garage. I was a bit shocked to see how small they were and I have concerns with flow. I switch between riding and skiing all the time so I would like to keep the fill/empty times down to a minimum.

I am considering replacing the front fill intake with a 1.5" scoop, one 1.5" cable actuated gate valve, and new 1100-1200 gph pumps. I will probably replace the plumbing at the same time with 1" PVC flexible tubing.
