    You guys are hilarious!

My wife is my high school sweetheart - she is one in a trillion!

SGY - thanks for the insight on the SNOB.

The one we're looking at is listed at 19,500 - I feel good about that price.

Like most wives who give their input on the boat purchase, she's concerned about space.

I think in her mind's eye she feels it will be similar to the 206.

I would be content with a closed bow; maybe my wife will change her mind about a closed bow (or higher price for a 206) once we take it for a test.

I could handle the price for a 206 - but only a 2003 model (which I think is the first year).

I don't see too many 2003 listed, and the 2005's are beyond what I want (can) pay.

Check out Boattrader.com. There were a few 2003 206's listed there when I checked last week.

Here's what I'll tell you, my wife was very skeptical about getting rid of the 99 SNOB until she took one look at the 206. She was absolutely sold. It's much more boat for the money. Lots more useable space. Then when you drive it and feel the rock solid and smooth performance, you'll be even more impressed than her. I think the wake is a little softer as well.

By the way, that's an excellent price on the SNOB. You're right, 2003 was the first year for the 206. The SNOB is a great boat but the 206 is much better for a family.

SA: keep an out for a good 206. I almost snatched an '04 206 SE model (with tower and dual axle trailer) for $24k. It had quite a few hours (700) on it since it was a school boat. Unfortunately, it was a good 6 hours from me and was being brokered for the school by a dealer. I was first in line to see it, and made the trek to demo it. It ran great, and I said that we would be interested if they addressed a few items (some gas shocks, hinges, trailer bunks, etc.). After two solid weeks of calling the dealer to inquire how the items on the list were going, and not getting return calls, I gave up and began a new boat search. I figured that no deal is worth that level of poor service. Lesson is I should have put a deposit to get him legally comitted on the deal; without that I couldn't apply much pressure). More importantly, there are some good deals on newer boats out there. I believe prices are higher out here in California, and you could find an even better deal in your area. Good luck.

It sounds like there is a reason for the 24k price. If he fixes all that stuff it goes up to a normal price.
I have a 2005 thats burning that will go back to dealer in late sep. PM me for price.

Nice 206. I wish I was in the market right now.

Mark, what do you think of the ZR-6 motor? Is it a good motor for Slalom?

The 24k was the payoff for the school's loan so that why price was that. The price included taking care of all the issues we had identified; the dealer was willing to take care of them because he was making more than enough money on the new 06 that he was outfitting the school with.

Hey Scarlet just FYI for you...I bought our 99 SNOB GT-40 last October, traded in our Ski Brendella. Great boat, GREAT WAKES at 15 through deep shortline, and phenominal tracking in the course. We paid $23K with trailer, only had 80 hrs on it. WE LOVE OUR CC!!!! Go buy it, finance it and pay the residual from your bonus off in January!! Agree with the rest though, the open bow component is an after-thought, and it serves well for just a little dog bed if for nothing else...our bow cover stays on most of the time.
