    211 or 226

I currently own a 2004 Tige 22V and I'm thinking of switching to the Nautique family. My wife and I love to wakeboard, I like to wakesurf when the water gets choppy, and we enjoy recreational skiing when the water is just too nice not to. I want to improve in all of these areas with wakeboarding being the primary sport.

Anyhow, I'm looking for recommendations from Nautique owners on which models I should be looking at with pros and cons to each. And I know I'm giving up storage space, but that doesn't bother me. Reliability and wake performance are number one.

    Thank in advance.

    RE: 211 or 226

Best thing I did with my 211 was to clear out the under passenger seat storage by putting the sub in front of the driver's feet. I can put my 5'6" wakesurf, wakeskate, 3 waterskis or 2 wakeboards plus all the towels, clothes, and bags from all the passengers in that single space alone. The rear storage spaces are used to store vests, ropes, wetsuits, anchor, bumpers and anything else that might be wet. There is usually enough room under the pass through for all the wet stuff and it's easy to leave that one up to air out with the cover on. I even forget there is more storage in to bow with all the other storage areas in the 211. People are blown away when we go out with 6+ riders without any gear in sight. The ice chest is huge, I load it up on Friday and it holds beverages for the whole weekend (58qt?). I am not sure if the 226 is laid out as well as the 211, never spent any time in one.

When you say recreational skiing do you mean slalom? Just remember this, you can always add weight for the wakeboard wake, but can't go the other way for skiing. I think you'd enjoy a 211 better.

The 211 is probably the best bet. It can give you a world class wake board wake. It's also approved for slalom class C tourneys. I hear the slalsom wake is comparable to the 216 Sport wake.

Yes, I do mean slalom. Should I put the 220 on this list?

Another concern I have is how the 211, 220 or 226 handles bigger water. We go the Lake Powell a couple times a year and the water can get pretty nasty if you get in a storm.

The 226 and 220 will handle rough water better than the 211, but the slalom wake on the 216 is excellent and if the 211 slalom wake is the same, you've got a great crossover boat.

I agree with Mike on the storage of a 211, at his advice I moved the sub under the drivers seat , and by removing the cooler under there as well, I got my landlock, and three boards with bindings under there, with towels, junk and wash bucket . I store everything I need in the 211, and there is still more room. may even stick a tube in there somewhere for when the water is choppy. As far as the 211 in chop, you need to define chop. 1-3ft lake chop is no problem for a 211, whitecaps, your going to get wet, but not like alot of wakeboats.
              good luck

You guys with the 211's that have put your subs under the drivers feet, do you have pictures? Sounds like a good winter project to me.

How's the wakesurfing wake behind the 211 and 226? How's the slalom wake behind the 226? I understand the slalom wake behind the 211 is nice. Thanks again for all of the posts.

Three of us. Even with the sub mounted on the side it prevents me from loading more than a wakesurfer and single wakeboard in that large space.
