2006 206 Suggestions

We are considering replacing our 1996 196 with a 2006 206 limited.


I looking for opinions on the following


1. Primary Color is Red with Silver Cloud hull and deck

We are torn between Navy, Black and titanium grey for secondary

When does CC change their website to update the build a boat section and reflect new color patterns?

Any opinions on color? We plan to have a long time and need color to stand the test of time

2. Skid plates? Are they decorative, functional or both?


3. Should we consider any other options besides Tournament Seat, Perfect Pass CC CRUISE?-we only open slalom ski

4. Air dam curtain- does it keep bow draft out on cool mornings without tonneau?

5. Flip Drivers

6. Mooring cover

I'm not sure when CC will be updating their website. Hopefully it'll be soon.

My preference would be black for the secondary stripe. I love my black boat, and maintaining it hasn't been as hard as I expected (and I have a black hull!).

Correct Craft's gelcoat is so thick that I would not worry about durability. If it does eventualy become chalky, you can always wet sand it and the color will come right back! I've seen that done on some boats from the 90's, and the results are amazing.

The tournament seat is awesome. The air dam curtain really does work. We use ours on the SAN quite often. You might want to consider a heater. That is a nice option on those cool mornings. My wife uses the flip-up seat every time she drives, but with a 206 you might not need it, especially at skiing speeds.

I would advise against the CC mooring cover. It uses straps, and is not of the best quality. The dealer who sold me my boat had a custom Sunbrella cover made for it, and it is outstanding. A cover like this is the only way to go. No straps, tight fit, made for towing, and doesn't leak a drop.



I would also advise against the CC bimini. It also uses straps. If you're getting a tower on this boat, get your bimini from www.towerbiminis.com.

You could just buy my 04 boat with 60 hours now located at Buxton Marine Lewisville TX 972.436.7412 and get all the features and more.

Aftermarket Mooring cover (just snaps) is a definite and I forgot to mention the heater and defogger (needed in New Hamphire)

Any thoughts on Perfect Pass Correct Craft Cruise?

I had PP Wakeboard cruise on my '01 X-Star, but upgraded shortly after to digital. I don't know excatly what the price difference is now, but the digital is the way to go. It is easier to use and you get all sorts of other functions like water temp, air temp, etc.

The new PP 6.5n is very cool. You can program it to remember people's desired speed, so you can just scroll through to that person's name next time they get in to ski.

The '06 PP is going to have several more upgrades in it also.

I guess it really just depends on how much you want to spend - but, you will already be spending some serious cash to get a new CC, so I can't imagine that PP will break the bank.

I went with a black secondary stripe on my 2005 196 and have received many compliments. I chose a red/gray for the interior rahter than red/black, and I like that also!

Are you ordering it with the new gel stripes or the 2005 gel stripes? Red and black look good and so does the red and grey. If you order the new stripes, I would suggest a red upper stripe and black main stripe.

I like your color suggestion. It's why I hope the website is updated soon so I can play with the combinations.
My current 1996 is black on black so I was leaning against black primary but we'll see.

Correct Craft Website Update

We are currently working on updating the site now. I don’t have an exact launch date but should be by the end of September. The colors for 2006 are the same as last year.

1. Tournament Seat - definate plus to have room (walkthrough is no problem)
2. Air dam helps - we do not have a open bow Tonnau cover but we close the windshield and put up the dam.
3.Flip Seat - useful at different times for different drivers - useful for sure....
