What is a Masters edition Ski Nautique.

The Masters Edition had special colors and I believe every option available on the 196. Maybe skinautique will jump in and clarify the options a little for us.

Blue and tan in addition to the one pictured as well. I had one (99). Not much other than the colors (ivory/blue/tan or ivory/green/tan). I want to say that they all came with the GT40's but I might be wrong.

colors, gt40, different pattern on seats, clam shell engine cover, all options, low production numbers = rare, to some more valuable.

so is there something in the hull # that denotes masters edition. How did it compare pricewise with a regular SN

Hull, numbers are standard as dictated by coast guard. There'd be no way to designate
it in the hull number. I believe for those years, if it's a ski nautique, and it's tan, then
it's a masters edition. I believe the others were all silvercloud as a base color.

I have a 99 Snob with tan hull, blue stripe, but I don't think it is a Masters.

Carb motor, not a GT 40

SNOBS and Sport/Airs different story. I know both offered in tans.
I could be wrong. Been seven years since I bought my 98 SN.
But for the SN, closed bow, I seem to remember that the tan ones were
all masters.

Master's edition

I was a partner in a dealership during this time period. The Master's edition was a color option only. You could get green/tan, burgandy/tan the first year (1997). The second year, you could get black/tan. All 1997-1999 SN's came with a clam shell motor box-this was not an option. The signature edition in 1996 was the first boat to offer the clam shell box. Otherwise, you could order a Master's edition with as many or few options as you wanted. The base engine was the 351 Ford / 240hp carb.

The dealer cost for the Master's color option was $900 at the start of the year. By the end of the year, CC decided to eliminate the upcharge.

My '95 Signature Edition has the clam shell motor box. Also has every option, CD changer, heater, shower, etc.

My brother in laws 95 Sig. Ed. also has the clam shell motor box and all other options as well.
My 95 SN not Sig.Ed. does not.

Master's edition

I stand corrected. I forgot that the Signature edition appeared during the 1995 model year - my mistake. Also, the Body Glove edition came with the clam shell box as well if I remember correctly. We never ordered either of these editions so I'm not familiar with the exact details other than both models came with just about every option that was available.

Also, in 1999, Navy blue became a Master's edition color along with just about any other combination. The neutral hull color was extremely popular so the dealers began working different combinations into the mix.
