Well, the strakeless version I skied and drove on Sunday was really good. At least as good on the slalom wake, maybe a little better, too soon to tell because it was a little windy. Trick wake was perfect, no turbulance at all, perfect shape. With the gate up the boat was about 3 mph faster, (more power for jumpers). Looking at the wake with the gate up at 38-40, I would bet that the barefooters would be pleased. (just going by looks on this one, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a 6-liter tested as a barefoot boat, making it a 4-event boat.) With the strakes gone I was worried that the really great slow speed slalom wake for the kids would be compromised, but I also pulled some 24 mph slalom and they said that it was as good as my '05. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. It looks like you can have the best of everything!

I wonder what brand of trailer that red one is...

It looks like the prop guard is bolted on...
I know I've seen a few posts from folks that had to cut their's off to add wheels to guard the prop guard then weld the guard back on. Bolting the guard on would make it easy to remove and add the wheels or, if necessary, replace the guard completly.

      Good idea!

Looks like an Eagle. Definitely not a Ram-Lin based on the bunk design, although Ram-Lins have a bolted-on prop cage, too.

            RE: bolt-on trailer

It is a Prestige. They have made several improvements for 06. They have a normal swing away tongue available now and the coupler are welded on flush instead of the tacked on look where they were raised up before. LED lights are standard, and they learned how to do laser cuts for the taillights. The wiring harness is not the large 7 pin that plugs into all new sport utilities without an adapter, and it is on a really nice coiled wire that doesn't droop. There is also a clip to secure the wiring harness when unplugged. Last year they added the oil bath hubs. They have finally answered most of my complaints!

I special ordered my Ramlin with the 7 prong plug and LED's and back up lights. And had a conversation with Dave (Ramlin) about a mounting a female receptor for the plug when not in use or using the Jet Connect http://www.boatersworld.com/webapp/w...9257%3Bc343710 and the prop guard rollers.
