Mike your dad and your family will be in our prayers as well.

I know the fear you speak of because my mom is going in for an arteriogram tomorrow morning and they expect at least one fully blocked artery. We don't know yet what procedure they will use to deal with the blockage, So I will be praying hard tomorrow waiting for the results of the test. I will remember your dad as well when I pray.

I do know that my grandfather had a major bypass surgery in the 80s and is still with us today. The surgery is very serious but don't lose hope.

When I am afraid because of the circumstances around me and because the Lord seems distant I read Phillipians 4:4-9 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...4-9&version=31

He will be fine. I know many guys who have had a CABG surgery and make it through very quickly. These days, it is almost outpatient. All my hope for the best, but don't be worried.

              Mike and Rob,

I'm praying for your dad (Mike) and mom (Rob). I know it doesn't remove the fear, but maybe it helps to hear of others who have been there and made it through. My dad had two heart attacks and quintuple bypass a few years ago and feels great today. I appreciate your prayers for my mom, who needs a heart valve replacement/repair.

              Dave

Whew! For a minute, when I read the title, I thought you bought a new 220 without telling your wife

Well, I just had a friend that went through this 5 weeks ago, and he is better than new. The doc's have this process down to a near science now and the recovery rates are fantastic. No, it's not fun, anytime they open the chest, it is not very comfortable, but it is well worth it.

BTW, if you have a http://www.heartsaverct.com/ near you, it's prolly the best money you can spend!

My next door neighbor had bypass surgery about 2 weeks ago and he is feeling pretty good. I see him out in the backyard enjoying the balmy days we've had, he tells me he misses the golf course. Wishing the best to your dad...he'll be up and about feeling better in no time. Godspeed!

I lost my father at only 63 years of age. You cannot ever regain the lost hours. Even though this can be considered a routine procedure take some time and spend it with your dad before next week.

Best wishes for a successful procedure,
                            Mike

                              Count on it.

I'm sure things will work out. Tell your dad to hang in there and I'm sure he'll have a speedy recovery. The best thing about this procedure is how amazing he'll feel when it's all said and done.
