        SNMike,

Schwarzennegger, Letterman, and now your dad :>)

By the time my Dad had a quadruple bypass, he'd already had a severe stroke,
a femoral artery bypass, severe diabetes, and a host of other ailments.

My point is, he was about as bad a candidate as you can find, and he came
through that bypass surgery no problem! It's a very, very, very high percentage
        surgery these days.

I'll have a good thought for your Dad.

        Best Regards,

        BKH

Dear heavenly Father, Please be with SNMike Sr. and his family through this surgery. Please lay Your healing hand on his heart in recovery, making it swift and complete. Be with the surgeons, nurses and staff. Bless Mike as he takes on more responsibility in business while the healing takes place. Please comfort SNMike in the coming days and let him know you are by his side and with his father. You are in control and all is well in your Kingdom. In Jesus name, Amen.

Mike, my mother had quad bypass four years ago. She had some complications and they had to go back in and install a pacemaker as well. Needless to say, I know what you are going thru. My mom is a nurse and she was back to work within six months and hasn't looked back since. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. May God be with and bless your father.

                SNMike,

I'm sorry to here about your dad. Bypass is a scary thing, but know that it really isn't any worse than operating on most any other organ. I'm in the cardiology industry and speak to cardiologists all the time and their patients. Without knowing any particulars, I can tell you that bypass has an extremely high success rate. Also, the patients have a remarkably quick recovery period. Your dad will be sitting up reading the paper in a couple of days after surgery. Also, most patients can return to their regular life style prior to surgery.

Try to find the strengh and courage within you and give the love and support your dad and family needs now. I hope all goes well for your dad, your family and yourself.

Just wanted to give an update on my Mom.

First thank you all for your prayers! Just a little background: My mom's side of the family has a very bad history with heart problems. Her dad had 10 brothers and all but 2 were dead before they were 60, some much earlier. The remaining two had also had heart problems. I mentioned that my grandfather (who is now the only one still with us) had a quadruple bypass surgery many years ago. So needless to say she had an uphill battle from the start because of her family history. On top of this she went through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment for cancer less than two years ago.

Last week she had a EKG and a nuclear stress test (a stress test where they put die in your blood and look at you blood flow before and after the stress test) The tests indicated a major blockage in one of her front arteries. My mom called me after these tests to tell me about the problem and to tell me that she would have to have an arteriogram today, and probably have a stint put in. She asked me to pray that either the first tests would be wrong or that God would do a miracle and today's arteriogram would show no blockage and a normal heart. Just about an hour ago my dad called to say that the test showed no blockage and a normal heart. Obviously we are very grateful for this incredible news.

Thank you again for all your prayers.

Mike I will continue to pray for your dad. Please keep us all updated on how he is doing.

Italian Catholic? I would've thought Irish Catholic with a name like Maloy.

I suspect my mom and dad have a place in heaven already reserved because my older brother is a Catholic Priest. He gets all the praise and attention--followed by my younger brother who's a cop. A priest, lawyer, and a cop. Guess who's the black sheep in the family. Maybe the folks have a heavenly place reserved because of their pain in the a$$ mouthy middle son.

My best to your family and you. Please keep up posted.
