    Rubber pads on Flight Clips

Anyone have any trouble with the rubber pads on the flight clips coming off? I had one pop off the other day....and when I looked more closely, there are a couple more pads that are slipping down.

Should I try to fix it? Suggested glue?

I was also thinking about replacing all the rubber with something that has more coverage (one piece) so that there are no edges to catch when putting the boards in the clip....

RE: Rubber pads on Flight Clips

Yes, I just noticed mine is starting to peel from the tip edge. Maybe there is still hope to crazy glue and restore it back to normal. Will crazy glue work ? Safe ?

I've lost at least 3 or 4 tried marine type glue etc...had the best luck with just using the sticky part of the replacement pad.

I wonder if gator grip would work? Might be too thick

I have had one come off already and a couple more that are starting to come off. If anyone finds a glue that holds them on please post what you used.

        Thanks

brick....do they come with a double stick backing?

Is there anybody out there with an adhesive suggestion?

The pads come with a self-adhesive backing. The type that you pull the paper backing off and apply.

I pulled mine off so that I could have the clips powdercoated red, and then reapplied them with a thin film of silicone type marine adhesive. I forgot what I used, but I used about a million clamps to hold them in place while the adhesive took hold. They are on better now than with the double sided tape. The funny thing is that I had to do it twice, because I was not happy with how it looked the first time. I was worried that it would not come off, but with some patient puling, and care it peeled off the clips, and the adhesive peeled off the foam, and left it nice and clean for a reglue. I still don't know where to find the original thin double sided tape, as that is what I wanted to use originally.
