I test drove a 2005 SV211 today and all I can say is GREAT BOAT!!!! The conditions were on the choppy side and this boat handled the chop as well as my 2004 Tige 22V. I really liked how solid the boat felt and how quiet it runs through choppy water. Very impressed.

The wakeboarding wake is very nice with the ballast full and the gate set in wakeboard mode. As a comparison, I typically run my Tige with around 500 pounds in the bow with TAPS in wakeboard mode and I felt like the 211 throws a much cleaner, bigger, and nicer wake. The 211 boots you up into the air, where my Tige seems to be a bit too rampy for a good kick off the top of the wake. With the stock configuration, the 211 wins. And as proof, I was working on a tantrum behind my boat, getting close....but as fate would have it, I nailed it on my third attemp behind the 211.

As for skiing, the 211 kicks my 22V's a$$ all over the place. A little soft bump at 15 off compared to a big hard bump at the same length and speed. I love this boat.

Storage is the only thing that I will be losing, but really don't give a hoot after riding behind this beautiful boat.

Anyhow, my Tige is on consignment and I've worked a deal on the 211 with my dealer. If all goes well, I will be a Nautique owner soon. Any advice on options would be great.

First off, congrats and welcome to the club... you're going to love it...

As for options... what's your budget? I'd personally recomment going all out with the TE and the ZR6. The ZR6 is a great engine to have. It sounds awesome, and when you are out there for the day with a full load of people and heavy hear pulling people, you will be glad you have the extra power. The question is, is it worth the extra 4K for you, but I have to say I love it and will get the ZR6 again any day.

I wouldn't recomend getting the Polk Tower Speakers CC offers. I would go aftermarket w/ NVS, in particular their Addiction series. I've heard they're great and am trying to get them myself. But again, it all depends on your budget. If you're willing to spend the extra money to have the biggest baddest stareo on the water, go w/ the NVS Addictions...

    BTW, where are you located?

Move the sub to the drivers footwell and you will have all the storage you need. Get the ice chest for the side access then just remove the cooler. The cooler under the seat is plenty big for most needs.

I 2nd getting the side acces door. I removed the door so it is a permanent opening.

If you can just get the stereo receiver and the 6 interior speakers that is the route i would recommend, the extra amps and subs you can do better and cheaper yourself. I actually did have my dealer install tower speakers and they did a good job, i got the Titan Series II which are reletively lightweight if you have to raise and lower the tower. But, the sub box that came with my TE was junk. It has a Polk Momo sub speaker which is decent, but the sub box i had replaced by a local stereo shop. I brought my boat in to the stereo shop to have them put in a 3rd amp to run the sub, and when they picked up the sub box it collapsed. Kind of embarassing.

                Zeda,

I assume you are buying from Taylor Boats. How are they? I have dealt with them on parts and have been frustrated by their really high prices and getting different prices when I go in versus over the phone. I haven't dealt with them on big ticket items though and was just wondering. BTW - welcome to the world of Nautiques. You won't be disappointed.

                  laddski,

I purchased my Tige from Taylor's and have been really happy with the customer service. The prices may be a bit higher in the service department, but they try pretty hard to make you happy. Which boat do you have? You must ride at East Canyon and Echo I'm guessing. We will have to hook up and ride sometime.
