    flight clip problems

has anybody found the flight clips a pain to use? i mean specifically the inner rack where your bindings hit the tower itself and donot rest all the way down in the slot, the fact that the slots are very wide, and the fact that the water will drip off of the board and land in the boat.
my idea is the shim the clips by two inches to push them outward. this will let a board sit in the inner rack all the way (not hitting the tower) and cause them to drip outside of the windshield sideglass (210 06 model)
    any thoughts?

I don't think the shims are going to entirely solve the drip problem, but
they will probably alleviate the issue with the bindings hitting the tower.

I just used my new pair last weekend. I found that it makes a difference if the toes are up or down. I think they work great, it was nice parking next to the houseboat and other boats without having racks hitting each other.

of course you would have the toes down, but the bindings sit hit the tower in the stock positioning.

CC screwed up. The Flight clips do not work properly with the new tower. The Inside board has to be against the tower which is BS (make a bunch of noise as well). My guess is the aluminum fancy Air Nautique cross bar was welded to far inside the verticle pipes. Drop the 1000 bucks on the spinner racks since thats thier only solution. Shims would work as well.

so you mean on the earlier towers the bindings don't hit the tower while in the inner slot?

Personally, I like that the bindings hit the tower (04 tower). I put my board on the inside rack all the time and NEVER have to fix the bungees. The board doesn't move and even rides rough water with no problem. Just my $.02 of how you might look at the situation with a positive spin. Shim away if that's what pleases you...flight clips are solid as can be, regardless.

Heard last week the factory install should have included the fitting spacer; it's being used now. Haven't seen it but contact your dealer.

That would be very new news to me, My friend with the boat, the Mid Atlantic CC rep, and the dealer. If true, maybe Jeff Warner from CC will eat crow and admit that all was not flawless in the Correct Craft utopia.

I love my flight clips but i got a 2005. At least they did it right before.

I like it but I can see why some people would not. I think it matches the lines of the boat better tilted at angle of the tower.

People have said that a guy in mid atlantic area who bought a new 210 made a suggestion to CC to use spacers. Maybe its the same guy talking about utopia, who knows? If so why would he throw CC people under the bus for using his idea? My 04 doesn't need them, but CC is obviously listening to input from users if that is the case.

Where's the evidence that anyone at Correct Craft is using my idea to remedy the botched 2006 FCT by providing spacers with Flight Clips? Having already endured a Goodyear blimp-full of hot air blown up my ballast tank by Jeff Warner at Correct Craft, I now find myself getting lecture by someon named Used. Too funny.
