    SV-211 Weighting

Just wondering, how are you guys weighting your 211.

I ride in saltwater, so I will probably need more weight than freshwater users.

I know there was a thread with a while ago, but just wondering if there has been any advancements lately.

      RE: SV-211 Weighting

Yep, more weight towards the back.

I run 1/2 to 3/4 in the belly tank depending on passenger load, the rear corners are always full. I tried adding 400-500 lbs of lead in the rears but I really prefer the wake without it.

Mike has it down. I tried 1/2ish in the locker and rear full and found it better than fully loaded. How about for skiing. Mike do you add anything to the locker to raise the tail a little more??

For skiing I unload everything and make darn sure it's running flat (side to side). Until I get the plumbing issues taken care of I also just leave the drain pumps running. The wake at 28off is very nice, don't even think of skiing at 22off, just go from 15 to 28 unless you are in the course. It's really weird, I don't even notice the wake if I am watching the bouys?

              Kahuna,

look at my post above, I added weigh in the beginning but now I prefer it without. Bottomline, it needs to be weighted more towards the back. I have had lots of different riders behind the boat with no complaints, in fact lots of compliments. Here is a picture of one of my buddies behind my boat.

we put the sac we have (1000 lb "fat seat") on top of the motor cover, with the back tanks full and only a driver in the boat, it porposed soo much with the plate below 1. wake was large but waaay rampy. moved the sac to the floor and made it not porpose but a little smaller.
i rode behind a 05 malibu vlx with 1400 and a wedge and the wake seemed 2x as big and popped easily twice as hard.
i kinda have a difficult time riding behind the 211. but was very comfortable behind the malibu, and i love my martinique. (wierd)
i havent ridden behind a SAN in a couple years though.
now were in the same boat as kahuna...

I ran a 750# fatsac on the floor lengthwise and a 250# fatsac up near the bow along with stock ballasts filled. The wake was really fun, very easy to ride. The fuel burn was crazy though, 20 gallons went soooo fast! I did notice the wake was a bit washy and rampy, so I guess I need to add more weight to the back. I had several people tell me that the wake was huge, but I didn't think it was that big???

We use just the balast sytem for wieghting - and people. We have had no problem with porposing and the wake is just fine for all riders who have been behind our boat. Most rave about how smooth the transition is entering the wake and leaving. The gate works well and adds lift for larger riders, but the smaller riders do great even without the gate. We use the gate mostly to trim the top edge of the wake.

Standard balast and gate combination should work just fine for most riders. I think the driver and rider make a huge difference on how much pop you get.

Here is a picture of my 13 year old son getting air over my 10 year old son - 2 adults in the boat and a couple more small kids, 3 balasts full, and slight trim on the gate.

How do you use the gate for trimming the wake? I tried to use the gate in the #2 position, but it seems like it would work itself back to the #3 position. Do you have this problem?

As far as the wake, It did feel more meaty with the weight. It may have been my imagination, but I think it was a big difference from stock ballasts only.

You shoul have your dealer check the gate if it moves. Mine stays right where I put it.

Typically I stat with the gate down (SL) and look in the mirror as the rider gets up. I try to get the edge where the rider crosses the wake to look sharp, not all washed out. The idea is to give the rider the bigest wake with no wash at the top edge.

The 211 puts out an awesome wake with sandard equipment.

For surfing, we fill the belly and starboard tanks, put passenge(s) to starboard rear, and run the gate at SL - 1. Slightly turn the wheel to right as the rider gets up and out. Keep a slight right turn on the wheel to crest the wake. Use the mirror alot!

                            Good luck.
