SV-211 Weighting

The jumper's rope looks about 5' shorter than the slalom rope the smaller kid is holding.

Hollywood got it right - the jumper's rope is shorter. I did not get too many action shots of him jumping my younger son, but I did get some of him jumping another kid who is 14 and a little bigger. On this picture he doesn't get as much pop - we are going straight and he hits the wake less perpendicular than the first. In first picture we swerved the boat back and forth making the edge a little better - he actually hits the wake going slightly the opposite direction of the boat as he cuts back across - it gives more pop. Also, in the first picture he gets about a foot of air over the younger son - in the picture he is on the way up, so he clears easily. Anyway, this picture depicts how the rope lengths work. BTW - do not do this trick without a helmet or while the wife is in the boat - it may be hazardous to your health.

That looks bad!! Is that called a "Superman" like in Motocross? Aso, are the ropes both on the tower - they do not look like they are coming from the same point?? And, did you cross under while he crossed over??

I jsut showed my son this picture - he wants to try it and maybe a tantrum over another boarder.

Yeah, that's Shaun Murray. The ropes are both attached to the tower, and I didn't move at all while he was doing that. He's still in the process of climbing at the point the picture was taken. Dude goes huge. He just said, "Hey, go stand just outside the wake." Then he flew over my head!

Yeah, it is cool riding with him. That shot was taken down in Orlando at his camp. We were behind Travis Moye's X-Star in that shot. There was only stock ballast in the boat at the time the picture was taken.

His camp is great. You get to ride with Murray and be pulled by Travis, who is the driver for the Pro Tour. Can't ask for much more than that. I'm going back in May 2006. If anyone wants to head down with me, click here.
