    Super Air 220

I was able to spend Sunday afternoon in and behind the new 220 and it is the most incredible wakeboard boat I've ever been in/behind! I was skeptical of the boat based on pics I had seen, not any more, the boat may look funny because its so different, but, its the most practical wakeboard boat in existance. The boat drove great as to be expected from CC but the storage, spinner racks, built in trash can, and many other features are just awesome. As for the wake, its the best I've ever ridden. Its smooth like the 226 with the kick of a 210 at the top. We only had the factory ballast, 4 people and the hydrogate and it was as big as my 226 with ballast and an extra 1,000lbs. I was gonna go back to a 210 after I sell my 226, but not any more, that was the most incredible wakeboard boat I've ever been in. MC and BU are gonna feel this one, its priced well and outperforms anything they've got.
If any of you get an opportunity to ride behind one take it, I'm really impressed! Just wanted to report my experience with the new boat. I loved it!

    RE: Super Air 220

My family also tested the 220 in Dallas, Tx a week ago (I was out of town). We are considering either an 06 VLX or a 220. We currently own an 00 Malibu Sunsetter LXI and would like to go to a specific wakeboard boat to get away from the need for the pump/fat sac fire drill and to minimize the wedge. Wake wth factory ballast and interior comfort is our primary criteria.

My family was also impressed by the 220 even though the conditions were not ideal and the late in the day demo time cut short the amount of time available. My teenage boys agreed with many of the comments posted about the 220; however, listed below are some of the observations that are of concern:

    1. They felt that the boat had lots of rattles and metal to metal clanging when going back through the wake or in wavy water conditions.

    2. The observer chair was only large enough to seat one person comfortably especially two teenage boys who cannot sit touching each other.

    3. With factory ballast the boat did not have a problem with hole shot to wakeboard speed; however, it was not as fast as the VLX with the Monsoon. Is the upgraded engine going to be a necessity with more people and additional ballast?

    4. In a tight turnaround and then returning back into the boat's path, the steering wheel had to be agressively turned back into the path. The boat did not have that self-straightening feeling.

    5. If out for a day, they felt the boat would accomodate 6 comfortably. Driver, one person in the bow, observer chair, reversible seat turned around and then one person in each of the port/starboard rear facing seats.

Don't get me wrong, we wouldn't be considering the 220 if we did not think this is a WOW boat in many ways. If anyone has comments about any or all of the above observations, we appreciate the feedback on this important purchase.
