    Am I gonna clear?

I wonder if someone out there can give me a FCT measurement...

I just purchased a 216 and want to make sure that is will fit in my garage. My dealer told me that the tower as it sits on the trailer is 75" high at the hinge. Is the hinge the highest point when the tower is folded.

    I have a max clearance of 82"

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

    RE: Am I gonna clear?

Yes, the REAR hinge is the highest point of the boat when the tower is folded down. We barely fit our 216 into our garage with just a few inches from the folded down tower to the ceiling, but it does fit. I do not have any numbers, but the rear hinge of the tower (wear the black knob is) is the highest point of the boat.

Every dealer uses a different trailer, so the measurement can vary drastically on identical boats. Back it in fast enough and it'll fit!

or if you need a couple inches, let some air out of the tires...

          Need some measurements

Hi Group! I need some help. Just purchased a new house with a garage. Because my 2003 206 is shrink-wrapped, I can't fold the tower down and measure. According to the previous posts, the back part of the tower (by the locking knobs) is the highest point. Can someone measure their 206 or 216 with the tower folded down and let me know some measurements???

Obviously the highest point of the tower when folded to the floor.

I have an Eagle trailer, which I believe the boat sits a bit higher compared to the Ramlin trailer.

If all else fails, I'll take out my saws-all (for the garage, not the boat)!

          Thanks,

          Dave

            Skidave,

I got you covered with the answer since we are Chessie bros. Give me a day or two and I'll stop by and check the height on mine.

Hi Jeff (Eggie)! How are things? Thanks in advance for the info! I'm hoping I'm going to clear???

We purchased a house in the York area last week. Hopefully this means more lake time together!

Stay warm and I look forward to your measurements.

                Yellow_Flash_Colorz:
I have a 2005 206 Air sitting on a Prestige trailer, my highest point when the tower is folded down is 81", the highest point is the back leg of the tower sticking up when it is folded. I have a 84" tall door and it fits in with room to spare. My measurement was taken with it sitting on the tongue jack, so depending on your hitch height will make a difference too when backing it in!

Mine ('02 SAN on a Magnum trailer) would only clear the door after I removed a piece of wood trim from the opening, and dropped the bow down as low as possible while pushing it in by hand. Even then I only had 1/4" to 1/2" clearance.

Befpre removing the trim, I had to let the air out of the tires, and it was REALLY hard to push then. Good thing I don't do all that anymore.

I have an 05' 206 on an Eagle double axle trailer. The back leg of my tower folded is around 86" above the floor. As it sits it looks like it could be a bit lower when it is hooked to the truck. Fortunately my garage door is 8' high so it goes in no problem.

206 on an Eagle single axle with tower folded, 86" is the height of the back leg when the tower is folded over the windhshield with trailer level and tires fully inflated.

                          Eggie,

Thanks for getting the measurements! I have 84" from the concrete to the bottom of the door opening. I don't know where I am going to get the extra 2"???

Does anyone think that lowering the ball height with a drop hitch might lower the trailer enough?

                          Thanks and C'mon Spring,

You can mathematically solve for the max. height playing around with numbers but pushing it in by hand is probably a lot quicker.

My prediction, dropping the coupler to the ground will not gain 2".

                              SkiDave,

How often are you talking about putting in the garage? You could probably get 2" out of letting most of the air out of the tires. Or how about taking the tower apart where it folds. You could use bolts with thumb screws or something like that in place of what's used now.

Otherwise get out the sawzall and start the demolition...
