Wetfoot - I have a 216 that is on a magnum trailer. It was too tall for back hinge to clear (by like 3/4") - so, I bought a 3" drop hitch, which lowers the front of my boat just enough to get it in and out.

I hope you don't have to do this - cause man, what a pain having to swap hitches twice.

I will not know for another month or two about the exact fit, but I will putting the boat into the garage when we are not using it. The driveway has a very slight slope (downward from the garage to the street), so I hope that might help with the clearance.

      I'll keep everyone posted.

      Thanks,

      Dave

Follow-up to Am I going to Clear

Just a quick follow-up to my garage issues.

It was not as bad as I thought getting the 206 into my garage. Eggie, your measurements were right on! I ended up lowering the tounge jack all the way down and very slowly pushed the boat into the garage. I cleared the garage door frame by 1 inch and the lip of the garage door by 1/2 an inch. With the jack lowered all the way, the height of the tower leg is 83" (on an Eagle trailer). This just cleared my 84" garage door. The boat takes up the entire garage on a diagonal and the fold away tounge made it all work!

I have since purchased a furniture dolly from Home Depot and framed it with some 2x4s and spare bunk carpet to fit under the front part of the trailer. Pushing on the tounge jack could be a danger if it were to snap... If anyone wants pics, just let me know.

Now it can rain all week long and I won't worry if any water is leaking in my covers...

Just my $.02, but it isn't that expensive or hard to replace the 7' door with a 8' door. If your not handy I bet you could get it done for less than $2k for parts and labor. It would be well worth it for a SN.
