    How cold is TOO cold?

Just a quick pole on how cold is TOO cold for all of you to ski or ride...
For me, the coldest conditions I have skied has been last year: 42 deg water, 38 deg air temp. Nothing but an "ice cream headache!" Not too hard to accomplish up here in the Seattle area, we are now into 45 deg air temps already...bummer!

Unfortunately, here in the NorthEast we cannot risk the boat staying outdoors non-winterized during those conditions. Last week I went in either 45, 50, or 60 degree water, depending on which guage you looked at! I'd have to assume 40 would be pushing it, but I'd probably end up going in if I had the opprotunity just to say I did...

Yeah AbunDiga, I read your post on the temp guage issue, and I am with you...if the guage is on my boat, I want it to work, otherwise, why have it there. I am sure it was really 45, if for nothing else but the bragging rights!

Hey AbunDiga, I read that you are a "student", made me LOL b/c it made me think back to when I was in grad school...here I made it all the way through 7+ yrs w/o a student loan, and then at the end, I took out a student loan to buy my first inboard tourn boat! HA HA, now THAT is a way to use college funds!

I don't care what school I get into, if there's no lake around I'm not going there... I'm waiting to find a college offering a scholorship for SkySkiing...

AbunDiga909, "I own a Nautique, therefore I am." Pretty amazing if I'm reading into it that you are a high school student????

Does he mean "Dad owns a Nautique"? I'm not trying to start anything, Abun, I co-owned my first Nautique with my dad. The financing rates are amazingly low Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

Wow, somehow I thought AbunDiga was much older, considering all of his knowledge of the boating world!?! You are wise beyond your years - not to mention incredibly fortunate.

BTW - while we are on the topic of AD909 - is there any chance you can enlighten us on the significance of the name AbunDiga909? I have no idea what it represents.

                        Haha... maybe some day AN211...

"I think, therefore I am." That is what it is based off of if no one picked that up... What I said is a quote also with some symbolic meaning (like my SN), not a factual statement not to be taken literally...

Used to be for me if the water was still liquid and the air was breathable, I would go for 1 pass if nothing else. As my years progressed and my wisdom increased I realized that it wasn't really fun like that, so now it is more when it is warm enough to not wear a jacket and the lake temp guage ( I have an 83 so no temp gauge, just my toe) doesn't go numb I'm game for going. That equates to early April- midNovember here in the bustling metropolis of Belmont NC.

We used to have a "100 degree rule" water and air temp had to add up to at least 100. As we got older we adjusted it accordingly...now its 120.
