PlanetNautique at The Boarding School - May 2006

I'm going to be heading down to The Boarding School in May of 2006, and I thought it might be interesting to see if we could get a group of PlanetNautique members together to go at the same time. I'm going to be down there the week of May 22 - 26, and will be going directly from there to the Masters Waterski and Wakeboard Tournament in Pine Mountain, GA (May 26, 27 and 28). I can probably arrange for PlanetNautique members to get the same discount on Masters tickets that we received last year, although I haven't verified that with Correct Craft yet. There are four open spots at The Boarding School that week, so if you're interested, post here.

For those of you who haven't been to The Boarding School before, their setup is great. Shaun Murray and Travis Moye are the instructors, and they use an X-Star and whatever Shaun's boat is for '06 (I assume it will be a 220). The house is right on the water, and they provide all the food. You can't beat it.

That's cool. I've only met a few people in person from the site, and most of them are skiers.

Hold one spot for my son Kyle. We are very interested and working out the details now.

Kyle is 14 and an intermediate wakeboarder - he's been boarding for 2 summers. He is just starting to get good air with grabs and is working on landing switch. He will get alot out of the camp.

Of course dad or mom will be there to watch.

Air, I think you need to hold 2 spots. They don't allow minors without an adult. I did not ask about a "non-rider" rate because both my wife and I took part, but with limited space I doubt they accomodate that. Check ahead to see for sure though. It is great and very worth the money spent. Travis and Shaun are very good instructors and a lot of fun to be around. Be prepared to be very sore and tired!

Wife's sister lives in Orlando and we are checking on the rest. Maybe Jeff can adopt Kyle for the week - ha,ha!

Well, yes. We got invited to Scott Byerly's birthday bash. Also we rode a lot at Shaun's house. Met his dad and his wife. Met his neighbor...Gerry Nunn...got to see him ride and honestly have never seen anyone go bigger in my life. Met Andrew Adkinson...he stopped by Gerry's for a bit. Got a flat in Shauns driveway and he helped me change it in Gerrys big garage. Funny thing was the first day I met Shaun and Travis, I was pretty starstruck, but after several days their laid-back attitude really makes you feel like this is normal. Oh, I also met Keith Lyman and he is one of the nicest guys too...he was driving Gerry's boat (with 5000# ballast) that day! It was pricey, but man was it the best experience. Even my wife wants to go back.

Plus, where else could you ride behind 2 of the best machines, with 2 of the best people in perfect conditions! I have lots of pictures and video, but I'm at work and they are on the home computer.

Similar experiences here. Met Emily Copeland-Durham, Gerry Nunn, Keith Lyman, and Andrew Adkison during my last stay there. The camp house is cool, but Shaun's house absolutely rocks!

Yeah, Shauns pplace is a total playground. If I ever win the powerball the only changes would be I will be the only house on the lake and the dirt I dug out will be used for a motocross track! Cool people, cool place. Would be nice to go again, but I think we are doing Disney with the little one this year.

Great experience here also. Shaun and Travis are great guys. It’s a phenomenal experience. Well worth the money. You won’t regret it. It’s unreal to watch Shaun ride in person, he goes huge.

My Son is going to be 20 yrs old this May. He's looking for a school sometime in the late spring or early summer. He's been riding behind our SAN. He's strong, advanced intermediate, does inverted backflips.
