Buying a Boat

I am getting ready to put an offer on a 1994 Ski Nautique 196. Here is what this boat has.

-Monster tower with racks
-Sub with new cd player and 4 new speakers
-Bimini
-Heater
-Transom hot shower
-Parrah depth and fish finder
-Single axel trailer with new tires
-New battery
-All gauges appear to be in working condition
-Seats have normal wear for age.
-The hull has one chip in it and very few scratches.
-It has 863 hours on it.
-Teak platform

-Boat is in good shape, I drove it yesterday and everything seems to be in
working order. The guy kept it in very good shape. The boat will need new belts and hoses. Is there anything else that I should look for before starting negotiations?

At that number of hours it might be worthwhile having a mechanic do a compression test and general looksee at the motor. That is by no means high but it wouldn't hurt to know what you are getting into.

Which motor does it have? Is it the Pro-Boss HO 5.8 or just the regular 5.8?

I believe 94 was the year of troublesome throttle body injection. Is it a carbed boat or injected?

The boat has the Pro Boss HO 5.8 and it is injected.

db-i just recently purchased a 1994 ski nautique myself(three weeks ago).

1994 rsapberry black white
well maintained teak platform
clarion cd player new clarion speakers around
2 new battery
seats and carpet are in very good condition(no tears snnags fading etc)
extra ski seats for observer and driver
stock 3 blade prop
acme 422 4 blade prop
fluids changed every 50-100 hrs(just changed)
1000 hrs
new steering cable

trailer w/ surge brakes new pads, spare tire single axel
custom cover that fits over platform also
all in all the boats an 8.5/10, theres some wear on the rub rails from trailing and the raspberry color on exterior is a little faded nothing extreme.
the nada is low-12,400-high 14,900? i paid $11000 for the boat, from a guy 3 streets over! nice boats, good luck 8-)
