    Perfect Pass 6.5 NG

Our Boat came with this PP however whenever we turn it on and go to gas the throttle the boat just wont take off, it engages in idle but doesntget any faster than say 5mph regardless of where the throttle is. Is there any online documentation or anything about this?

sounds like your dealer never water tested the boat prior to delivery. You might want to take it back to them.

Theres a bit of a problem with that, where are in Western Australia, there is no dealer in our state. The closest Dealer is in South Australia which is about 3000 km's away or 1875 miles away. The dealer told us he did a water test, and we believe him as there was 1.5 hours on the clock when we got it. But what they actually tested i'll never know!!

From reading your other posts, the dealer should have fixed up the minor problems while water testing. It's not hard for them to pick up faults and fix. Mate you might as well be in PNG the QLD dealer would be closer.

sounds to me like the dealer didn't water test. The 1.5 hours probably came from the factory.

Ok since we're not going to be sending the boat back to South Australia, is there some online documentation on PP 6.5NG as i remember somewhere it saying that you need to initialise the servo or something. As we didnt get the manual with it either!!!! Any ideas what might be causing the problem?

Ask the dealer to come to you, it sounds like something they should be sorting out.

When the system is initially installed, you can perform a servo test if you would like but this is not required. Open the engine cover and check on the servo while you power up the system. You should see that the knob clicks a couple of times as the servo is in the process of tensioning. Then it should remain tensioned until you power down the system and power it up again.

If you are able to go at higher speeds when the system turned off, your servo is most likely working fine as it has to tension for the throttle to work.

What settings do you have on the PP when you turn it on?

Below is a link for the instructions and setup of the PP as well as another link for the PP dealers in Australia.

One more question, what year is your boat? On the '06 you have throttle by wire and the settings for the servo may be different (I have not checked this out). I also think that the PP module now is incorporated on the Faria control box (under the glove box).

I am not familiar with the '06 configuration so the response to my post above may not apply to this years model.

I don't know what the slowest speed on the PP is (or RPM setting) but have you checked that the system is not configured to go at its slowest (or that the system was properly calibrated)?

Yeah its the 06 210 model, so i'm not really sure how the perfect pass is incorporated into the throttle by wire stuff. So if anyone has had problems with an 06 model let us know, we're hopeful that its just not calibrated correctly. I'll have to check the settings tomorrow sometime.
