    Flat Spot when Taking Off

Final Posting of whats wrong with our New Boat (they're only minor things, but we want to get it all sorted ASAP). When taking off with the new boat, it kinda surges at the start its as if the engine is being starved of fuel or something for a second or so. Is this a characteristic of the new drive by wire or is it something we should have looked at by a mechanic?

Most of the time we've put it in gear and then once she's moving, kicked her in the guts. , should it matter?

Even with the advent of MPi and drive by wire the computer may have a hard time delivering the proper air/fuel mixture for 650 rpm's to WFO or WOT depending on where your from.
Try to increase the throttle position more gradually to allow engine rpms to catch up. Remember you only have one gear and you're starting off in fourth. Please take no offense to my suggestion, but I've heard this complaint many times and only on a few occasions was the boat at fault.

Waterdog, I take your point. I guess i was trying to see if this was normal. It doesnt really matter how fast we take off, you still feel this flat spot then it all comes good in like half a sec, maybe a second. It really does feel like the air/fuel ratio is incorrect, just hoping theres not a split fuel line somewhere and its drawing air.
