    "N" led hitch cover

It's raining outside, I can't work on my boat so I decided to make a new hitch cover for my truck. Check it out.

Here are the little LEDs, these are cheapies, not the good clear bright ones.

Here is what the front of the plate looks like with the LEDs off. The plate is supposed to look like carbon fiber.

It took a bit of time soldering all of the LEDs up. I ended up with an odd count so I had to add a resistor into the equation.

Here is what it looks like all lit up. Now I have to fill the back with resin and attach the hitch insert.

Thats Sick, are you going to wire it up so that it comes on with your brakes?

I was planning on hooking it to the tail lights but I can probably hook it to the brakes too if I add another diode.

I think you'd almost have to wire it up with the brakes only. It seems like having any bright red light in the centerline of the vehicle might be misleading to other drivers if it wasn't wired to brakes only. I think all the storebought lighted hitch covers only illuminate during braking for that reason, but I could be wrong.

Very nice! It must have been raining for a long time.

Are you going to take the wires and connect them into a plug that would go into trailer light plug?
