    Warning Labels With New Registration

Has anyone got their new registration with the carbon monoxide warning labels? Where did you put yours? This might be a CA only thing. One has to be on the stern and one on the dash. I'm sure there is a nice fine $$ if you don't have those on your boat since it is coming from the State! This SUCKS Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

RE: Warning Labels With New Registration

Yep, I just receveived my CA '07 registration stickers also, and included in the envelope were the two additional warning labels you mentioned. The one on that's required on the stern may not look too bad since there are stickers of approx. the same size already there. I have no idea where I'm going to put the one on the dash though.

If you can think of a somewhat inconspicuous place near the dash area (and still be visible enough to dodge the ticket) please let me know.

Wow...remind me never to move to California, seems like they are always doing stuff like that.

Based on that same logic, did they send you a warning sticker about not wrapping the rope around your neck and jumping out of the boat at 30mph...or how about....don't drink the gasoline in your boat..or water moccasins found in the lake should not be given to children as pets...etc.

jeesh...and I thought required observer and 200ft rules were bad...hopefully indiana doesnt follow the lead

For the dash I am thinking in the footwell next to my knee is a good spot and for the rear I am thinking under the swim platform next to the exhaust is the right place! That's probably where mine will end up. Since the glove box is on the dash maybe inside the glove box would also be a good spot?

Don't be silly patoloco. There are no water moccasins in California. Yellow_Flash_Colorz:

            What???

What exactly is the requirement in California for CO warning stickers?? When did this happen??

I am sure there are quite a few people who need to know.

Too funny BK and Loco. Of the hundred or so stickers I peeled off my new boat with a hair dryer the ones that gave me the most enjoyment were the ones on the hull and engine proclaimed I had the privilege of paying a bunch of extra money to meet California emission requirements.

I just got mine too, then I saw this post, otherwise i would have tossed it. I didnt even read the back of the sticker, this totally blows. I just removed all the "warning" stuff and now this.

Its going in the stereo compartment and will scotch tape it onto wherever its required temporarily and then goes back in the box compartment.

And I had the same question as Flux, what exactly are these stickers about? Are they the ones saying not to hang out around the exhaust due to CO? And that the driver must turn off the engine when boarding from the rear? Or what?

Assembly Bill 2222 (Koretz) requires that a set of carbon monoxide warning stickers be placed on the transom and helm of all new and used motorized vessels sold in California beginning May 1, 2005.

I guess I will save my stickers in case I ever SELL my boat.

That's a good point. I'm going to assume that CA has a law requiring a boat operator to have a license, so it would only make sense to throw that CO stuff into the test. Saves money, CA won't have to print thousands of lame stickers, and time (lake patrol can go look for people who are really causing a hazzard).
