Today's poll...spinner racks v. flight clips

Very few people have voted so far in today's poll...spinner racks v. flight clips...

As for function, I've gotta vote for the spinner racks; but for looks, I still really like the flight clips. I like the way the flight clips pin the boards right up next to the tower, and it makes it easier to get the boat in the dock with the boards attached. The spinner racks look like an afterthought.

If I was buying a new boat this year, though...I'm sure I'd have to have the spinners.

What do you guys think?

I held out until I saw the spinners in person then I bought my flight clips.

I have flight clips and have never used the spinner racks so I can't vote. I do have to say that the flight clips are a bit of a pain, especially the bungee straps. I got a chance to check out the MC racks last year and I really did like the quick lock and unlock feature. Much easier then bungees.

I have to agree. The MasterCraft racks are killer. CC is trying though. They're moving in the right direction with their spinner racks.

Those MC racks are really nice, but I've also heard that there is a lot of metal work that goes into building that tower and those racks - like as much as $5-$8k additional on MSRP.

Years ago there used to be this company called T3 out in Cal., for all you guys who remember. They were probably one of the first tower makers around circa 95/96 timeframe. Anyway, the guy who was running the company was probably one of the best design engineers around, he made a fully collapsible tower back then and had a fully designed and functioning swing boardrack. The thing was trick. It would swing from the seating/floor area all the way to where most boardracks are today. It would fully lock in both the open and closed positions and the tines were adjustable for whatever pitch you wanted the forks at.
Needless to say the guy couldn't run a business if his life depended on it. To this day he owes people money from back then. He really didn't make a good name for himself, business wise. But, he could engineer some pretty need stuff.
