    Towing with Bimini

G'day Guys, just wondering if you tow with your bimini on or not, we have a genuine nautique one and up around 80-90k's (50 mph +) it starts to blow around a bit. Is there an easy way to fold it up?

    RE: Towing with Bimini

The boat goes 40mph or so on the water so I figure as long as I don't go over that speed I could leave the bimini up. But, I always tow with the bimini down, a friend of mine fold is front bow towing over 50mph. Most of the time I tow when going to/from the lake so it makes sense to have the bimini folded since the boat is going to/from storage anyway. The one excption is when I towed between two lakes last year since I spent Friday afternoon on one and met up with others on Saturday. It was about 10 miles so I felt it was easier to leave the speakers and bimini up and tow at 40mph.

I fold mine when I tow as well. The pouch or "boot" which goes around the folded
bimini has straps sewn to it. I just tie those around the top of the tower when
      in transit.

        RE: Towing with Bimini

We have a Tower Biminis bimini, as do many others, and agree w/ Mikeski about the towing. We always fold it up in it's nice bag for towing, except for the 5 mi. trip from lake to lake at no more than 45-50 MPH. When we go on the highway, it needs to be folded up. It's not the poles, the poles are super strong and could take more MPH than we would dare to give it, but its the Sunbrella you don't want to stretch out at high speeds.

BTW, Mikeski, you take your speakers down?

So how do you actually fold it up, we've had to take it down, ie undo all the screws when we've gone long distance but dont wanna do this every time. Heres a close up of our bimini. I take it you disconnect the front straps, but do you leave the middle brackets connected or do you have to unscrew them? Does anyone have photos of it folded up
