211 Lounge seat cracking fiberglass

211 Owners. I had a major fiberglass repair under the lounge seat on my 211. If you lift the seat and look under the combing pad were the little fiberglass sticks out. Check to see if it is crack. The wife was cleaning the boat and noticed it. She thought it was her hair.

I think that CC told the dealer that mine was the first boat they have heard of. American Boating Center in Knoxville did and EXCELLENT job of fixing the problem. They totally refiberglassed the inside. It does not flex at all now. I was impressed. Since mine was done they have had 3 more complaints.

I checked the new 06 they have in the showroom and cc moved the combing pad down flush with the fiberglass, so I am not sure if it was to hide the issue or just to make it look more finished, which I think it does make it look more finished.

which lounge seat. the one one passenger side that faces to the rear? What's a combing pad?

Combig pad is the upholstery that runs along the gunnel.

My 211 also developed some gel coat cracks - around the base of the walk through. Those were nicely repaired last off season... I noticed while preparing the boat for this off season another crack by the handle near the walk through. Never had any gel coat issues on my 97 SNOB or 99 Pro - so I'm somewhat dissapointed with the build quality on the 211....
