Make sure that you guys see that MOWS stated that none of the lines that he carries come in great shape. I will say this, I have been handling a lot of new boats and they are gettting a lot better. CC is listening and working their hardest to make changes for the better. I am impressed with the quality that they build now in the old factory. I hope the new factory makes things even better
Do you work at a dealership or at the factory?
    Ski on dude!

bkhallpass -- you are exactly right, compare a ten year old CC against any other and see how they have held up craftsmanship wise!!! I just sold my '95 Ski in the spring, ten years old and that boat was as solid as day one, and by the way, I got top dollar out that boat from a guy that was looking at mine and at a malibu that was three years newer and that was less $$ than mine!! He bought mine because of the quality of CC. I have talked to him after the summer was over and he told me that everyone that looked at his boat couldn't believe that it was ten years old!! I feel the build quality of a CC is way beyond the next boat company - I am talking structural

Chassman, I'm paying attention. But, like you, I'm not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water based upon a few complaints. I give credence to MidOhio but I have no perspective on other problems imposed upon dealers by other manufacturers. I also have to say that I don't know the whole story regarding the Midohio/CC divorce. I have to take what MidOhio says with a grain of salt--especially given the fact that CC has a long standing and continuing relationship with many dealers around the country. I'm not sure four years is enough of a representative sample on how CC deals with their dealers over the long haul.

Like I said, I give credence to Midohio. I had a positive experience with them two years ago and because of that respect James and Eric. As I said before, I wish them well. But I also understand that there are some hard feelings there and "digest" their posts accordingly.

I'd like to thank those on this forum for their positive comments.

To put the story straight I am looking for my first boat of this type and as youy will appreciate they ar not cheap. I wanna buy the right boat first time so I dont have to worry about changing it too soon because I choose the wrong model/make.

I have visited many many forums and they all are biased(no suprise there) but just need to absorb as much information as poosible before I spend my hard earned $'s

So when I see a post with a load of guys ranting on about quality issues and saying how the principles QC seems to be dropping, then you will appreciate that I as an indepenedent (outsider) will think the worst and take comments at face value for there is normally no smoke without fire.

So in summary don't jump dowm my throat for comments I make, put yourself in my shoes, somewhere you've all been, and appreciate that I'm going to be spending a whole load of MY wage .

I will also recommend the CC. If you have further questions, send me a message. I would love to help you out!

Skinatique, Where did he say that? I thought he failed to answer the question about which company preps the boat the best from the factory.

Maybe its just that the brand is only as good as any of the other ski boat makes and its really justs down to the badge you like to stick on your license plate.

I hope I can be convinced otherwise but don't hold out much hope !

Guess I'll just keep on looking for the best boat out there.

There was a discernable change of of tone from your initial post to your 2nd. That's why you got some negative feedback. Your responses would have been useful if you started the thread without sarcastic language.

Most people wouldn't go to a Rolling Stones discussion forum, bash the band, then ask for opinions on their favorite album.

In my son's eyes, it's ok for him to rag on his sister. But if a non family member yells at or abuses her, then katy bar the door. He's there to fight for her and protect her. This analogy applies to this forum. That's why on one post, CC owners are up in arms about perceived problems with CC quality control, but on this post jump to CC's defense.

Skaterguy, you have to make up your own mind. Go to a boat show, crawl around each boat you are interested in. Then take each out for a test. If CC is the boat, you'll know it. Don't let some of the winter ramblings (Speck's specific issues aside) on this board disuade you from considering an otherwise fine boat. Good luck.

                        My take on it:

If the QC for the pretty stuff is going down, is the QC for the functioning stuff also going down?

Is the QC truly going down, or are we becoming more picky as the price increases?

Is CC QC going down or are the other brands coming up to meet CC's "high" standards?

I personally feel the truth lies in the middle somewhere, and I also feel that we are becoming more critical as the price increases. While I would love to have a new CC I am not willing to spend the amount they are asking for the now. I just don't think they are worth it, especially when the newer boats (save the 220) don't really have any new technology. I will just stick with my '02 unless a killer end-of-year deal rolls around.

I spoke with Eric a couple of days ago and I think that he would tell you there are no hard feelings. But if he sees your post, I'm sure he'll be able to answer for himself.
