This begs the question then as to why Flight Clip brackets were delivered with the boat by CC to your dealer in the first place, after you had been specifically hyped about getting the new spacers. I will beg off on pounding the table here about that question other than to say emphatically that I might believe that this was all a simple mistake by CC if the Flight Clip brackets that were delivered with your boat came as production refuse and discarded in the the under-engine bilge area, along with all the other random screws, bolts, nuts, washers, wire scraps and various and sundry other giblets that typically come with a brand new Nautique. World class towboats with top notch QC, they say... As a relative matter, maybe yes.

          ER,

Stop teasing Speck with the promise of workable Flight Clip spacers to replace the bogus ones CC originally sent to use on his '06 FCT. We all know it's all hands on deck to construct the new Hyundai plant in O-Town and CC has no interest or time to clean up that mess. I'm still so P.O.'d from last year that Mr. McNew ought to be nervous about using a Port-O-Potty at the big construction site out of fear that I jam a stick in the lock and tip him over in it.

No surprise here that I didn't get a free sweatshirt or some other swag like everyone else I know who buys a new Nautique and sends in a customer feed back form.

i can't wait for the customer feedback form to come, but i am waiting for my situation to be cleaned up before i solidify any opinion. at least i am not missing any water time now.
the boat is being picked up to go back to the dealer next week. the boatshow is over now in toronto, and so the wheels are turning for fixing my boat. i promised to hold my tougue about the probs on the boat and give cc and my dealer the time to step up to the plate. that seems fair. i hope to bring good news that all is fixed up soon.

...cc did not "take back" anything, i got it wrong, the real spacers have not been sent yet
Speck, I am surprised no one picked up on this statement. I for one am VERY impressed!

                RE: flight clip extention

ER, I picked up on that statement like a penny off a sidewalk and have all but charged in earlier posts that Speck is gullable for having willingly inhaled this carcinogenic smoke that the "Fired Family Fool" from CC must have blown up his dealer's ballast tank. There is absolutely no reason that CC would have shipped with Speck's boat any '05 FCT/Flight Clip clamps unless the clear suggestion and purpose was to mount them (no mounting hardware provided) with Flight Clips as Speck did.., or on the long, narrow tubing on the top of the new '06 FCT. That crossed my mind...same dimensions as the old billet... And, since those brackets weren't shipped in the under-engine-bilge area where the CC mechanics routinely discard assembly debree, it figures that Speck and his dealer didn't get anything wrong!

Speck, Too funny. Do what I did when you get the survey in the mail and include in your reply PN's Internet address and handle on this site.

Years ago ('00 and '01, anyway, but not '03), CC sent me a quality, "N" logo, collectable tin of chocolate chip cookies with the purchase of my new boat and after successfully completing a ball licking customer survey. Last year, my buddy got a high end CC "Air" sweat shirt in the wake of buying an '05 SANTE.

Following your lead and with fingers crossed that your boat gets straightened out, I'll hold my tounge here for a while and patiently wait for the next update. In the meantime, and if you are interested, please "spec" out some rectangular spacers that will work/look better than the crud now on your boat and I will try and get my knee surgery recouperating, metal-fabricating buddy to knock them out when he starts tooling around his shop here shortly. No promises other than my committment to get them out of him with food, drink and the promise of future pulls.

i have been told that my "build quality" thread really got to people at the cc factory and at my dealership. really pissed some people off i should say. i visited the boat show twice this past week, and i can honestly say that i still want a 210. the mc's either did not impress me (x15) or were overdone (xstar). the malibus had freaky long carpet for 06, but would still be my second choice. the supras and centurions did impress me for stepping up a notch, not bad looking boats, at least when they are new.
as far as how the thread went over at cc i consider it "tough love" as you like to say. i want cc to be trying harder. they have the best boat. they use the best materials. they just need more attention to detail in the entire build process. i hope it draws attention at the factory and makes for positive change. i really mean that.

on a side note i was told that the proper spacers donot stick out as far as my adapted ones do. i pulled the boat outside (warm weather here) to put the tower up and put a board in the inner rack and it was perfect. the binding was just held away. any closer and it would still fit in, but it might rub. also a big concern of mine is of water dripping off of the board into the boat, and onto you sitting in the boat or driving. how annoying. i think that any closer than mine and the water would drip just inside of the side windshield.

We've received the official board spacers and here they are, havent put them on yet but will post more pics when that happens.

Looks like we're going to have to polish the tower to match the spacers!!

how thick are the spacers, and how thick are the bolts, 1/4 inch or 5/16 like i used, i hope the bolts are stainless

Ahoy fellow Nautique bilge rats: Shiver me timbers, it appears that those li'lly libbered scarvey scum at CC finally swabbed Polly's parrot poop off the Flight Clip/'06 FCT combo and have decided to stop hornswaggling their customers. Avast, grab thee a wench and a bottle of rum, mateys, let's celebrate Captain McNew fixing a design flaw/oversight that his first mate (who was fitted with a hempen halter and danced a jig last year) denied existed five months ago after it was brought to his attention. Argh!!!

Thar futtock shrouds that mount the new spacers could still 'take a caulc', I say. Without question, those black jack nipples will be knocked off when the first wakeboard is put in the racks and the second one will get shredded to resemble salmagundi.
