I like the look of the FCT too and agree with Eric that it helps brand the Nautique look. I also happen to agree that it is a well designed tower that is strong and doesn't rattle. However, I understand that others may have different priorities and esthetic tastes to mine and therefore always vote for pro-choice. I happen to like the tower on Spec's post too.

Just one more thing...I also wish CC would continue with the 216/206 look more than the newer 211/226/220 style for the same branding reason. Besides, I think they just look sleeker. But to each their own...

I am curious, does the Titan tower fold in such a way that it is within the boat so your cover goes over the tower?
IMO the biggest downfall to any tower is getting your cover on around it. It takes me quite a long time to cover my boat b/c of the tower legs. I have not seen a good design for a cover in this respect.

Quinner, I'm not following you. Other than 4 velcro flaps which secure my cover around the
tower arms, there is not more effort putting my cover on my 210 than there was on my
towerless ski nautique. What type of cover are you using?

          BKH,

Both of my Air's came with covers that go around the tower legs with velcro similar to what you mentioned however they also have draw strings which need to be untied/retied around tower legs @ each side. My current Air also has some snaps that attach to the underside of the rub rail.
I am on a Shorestation w/Canopy and it takes me 5 minutes or more to cover my boat, my Ski's all took a minute or less. I never use tent poles because my cover never really sees direct rain and up front I have an extended pylon.

            Quinner,
Are you folding your tower under the shorestation every day, cause then I could see why you're so concerned? I don't think you'll find any cover to fit over a tower unless you specifically had one customized to do so.

You might want to consider the 2 piece cover design as I am, so you don't have to remove the bow section if not being used. Also the back section becomes far more managble. You could have it designed with "U" cutouts for the tower legs instead of the flaps that come together on the other side.

Here is a picture of my setup. Oh, it might be a little more time consuming
to cover than was my ski nautique, but not much. Certainly not enough
to consider a different type of tower. Anyway, for what it's worth. BKH

                Redelf,

I am set up so I can get the boat completely out of the water tower up or down, I fold the tower if I know the boat is going unused for more than a couple days. Folding the tower does not really affect the covering of the boat at all.
I would just love it if my cover was done in a minute or two as apposed to the tedious task of tie/untie, unvelcro/velcro, etc.
My last ski had an elastic draw string, it literally took 20 seconds to cover, it was great.

I had heard Titan or someone had a tower that folded down and flush or into the boat allowing a conventional cover. That would be awesome however if the tower looked anything like the one that is on the 210 in this thread, for my taste I would spend the extra time covering.

I don't understand why you are folding the tower if you have a canopy that it can fit under. When I fold my tower, it puls on the cover in the bow and hence, the cover does not reach over the stern.

                  BKH, really nice set-up!

                    Quinner,
I had the same problem you have. I am in WI and have my 97 supersport on a shorestation. I put the titan tower on it last year when I bought it. I fold the tower down to go under the canopy as well. Even though I have the canopy I cover the boat each time, otherwise it gets really dusty plus the spiders are insane by the lake and they are always leaving black spots on the gel and seats which are a pain to get off.
I went and bought a universal cover. It actually fits over the Titan when it is folded down. Like you said I am not worried about the rain cause the canopy blocks that. I just want it to keep the dust and stuff out. It takes less than a minute to cover it. This is much shorter than wiping it down everytime I get in it.

                      Erik,
I understand where you are coming from on the look standpoint. I also like the way the FCT looks but the Titan grew on me over the years. I know when the Titan first came out I really didn't care for the look. But like you said it is all personal preference.

                        Quinner,
I know what you are talking about with the tying and untying of the rope to get around the tower each time. I solved this problem by going to the fabric store and buying clips like on the ski vest and some webbing. I then ran the webbing through the cover by attaching it to the string and pulling the string out. Now I just clip and unclip and it so much easier and faster.
